Resource Reclamation: Unused RIPE Database vouchers?

Hi everyone, I’m reaching out because I’m on the hunt for a new job and I’m really keen to sit the RIPE Database exam as I think this would be a really great skill to bring to the LIRs that I am applying to. I apologise in advance for posting here if this is the wrong place, however, as many of you know, there’s currently no way to buy these vouchers at the moment. Since LIRs get vouchers every year, they can be forgotten, I wanted to see if anyone had a spare one. Think of it like a recovered IPv4 block being returned to the pool rather than letting it go to waste! I’ve checked the t&c (specifically article 7.2 https://www.ripe.net/about-us/legal/ripe-ncc-certified-professionals-servic… ), and since they are transferable and have no monetary value, I’m hoping someone might be willing to "route" one my way. Dear RIPE community members, We are researchers from Georgia Tech investigating the phenomenon of BGP stuck routes (also known as "zombie routes")—prefixes that persist in routing tables despite being withdrawn by their origin AS. While recent research using BGP beacons (including our work presented at IMC 2025 [1]) confirms that zombie routes occur regularly and can persist for long periods, there is a gap in understanding the operational reality of this issue. We observe the data, but we need to hear from operators to understand the real-world impact and their mitigation responses. We invite you to participate in a brief, anonymous survey to help us assess the extent and impact of this phenomenon in operational settings and to identify common practices for mitigating it. Felipe Victolla Silveira Leaving the RIPE NCC

Dear colleagues, I would like to inform you that after 13 years at the RIPE NCC, Felipe Victolla Silveira is stepping down as CTO and will be leaving the RIPE NCC. Felipe has made a significant contribution to the organisation over the years, holding a number of key roles. Starting in 2012 as a Software Engineer, Felipe then became Software Engineering Manager before joining our Executive Team as Chief Operations Officer with responsibility for the Registry and our Business Applications, including the LIR Portal. Notably, Felipe served as Interim Managing Director from October 2019 to May 2020, ensuring stability through the leadership transition from Axel Pawlik to me. For the past three years, Felipe has further contributed to the development of the RIPE NCC and the resilience of our core services in the role of Chief Technology Officer. During his time with us, Felipe played an important role in shaping both our technical direction and organisational development. His achievements include leading the modernisation of our ticketing system and the phase-out of XRTT, and implementing automation that accelerated the overhaul of our sanctions compliance processes. Felipe also worked closely with the community to define our service criticality and how that should lead to the use of third-party services, continually revisiting that decision in light of changing external factors and community input. He contributed to our achieving ISAE 3000 / SOC 2 compliance for RPKI, and during his tenure, we strengthened the high availability and resiliency of RPKI services. We also modernised the RIPE Atlas infrastructure, including the Hadoop cluster migration to Hetzner. We are grateful for Felipe’s dedication, leadership and the lasting impact of his work across the organisation and the community. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
