Hello, I was wondering if you please explain how the credit system works, specifically traceroute measurements. I performed 2 measurements yesterday using large packets(1500) and targeted 500 probes per experiment. When the bill came it was rather shocking. I realize this is a tall order, but is the amount correct? The measurements I'm referring to are : 1043292 and 1043293. They each totaled to 1M credits, should it not be half of that? Kind regards, Warwick Louw

Hello, The system (at the moment) is sensitive to the size of outgoing packets; the bigger packet size you ask for, the more it costs (this is explained in https://atlas.ripe.net/docs/credits/). I suspect we'll need to review that, as this seems to be a recurring issue for users and there's not that much difference between a 100 byte and a 1000 byte outgoing packet. The costs should be more related to the number of packets and less to their size. Regards, Robert
