I worked with the team behind the Spotter project ( http://lakis.web.elte.hu/publ/laki_infocom2011.pdf ) to give this a try on RIPE Atlas, but nothing came of that. Big problem is first mile latency. I do have prototype code for something like this in OpenIPMap, but it's currently not used because it doesn't perform too well. Happy to share (it's embedded in django models) and hope you can improve. cheers, Emile
