I have a strane effect with probe 10293. Under "System Tags" I have both "Resolves AAAA Correctly" and "Resolves AAAA Incorrectly" listed. Apparently only one of the tags can be correct - or am I missing something? Best regards and seasonal wishes, Peter.

I observe the same for all my probes and one anchor in different networks and different resolvers (local unbound, public dns from google, dnscrypt and so on). Might be an issue with RIPE Atlas itself. -- Best regards, Serhii Timofieiev, Founder Skhron OÜ (reg. no. 16921920) https://skhron.eu/

Saw the same thing myself yesterday. Glad to know it’s not just me. Kind regards, Peter On Wed, Dec 25, 2024 at 13:54 Peter Eckel via ripe-atlas < ripe-atlas@ripe.net> wrote:

Perhaps it is season related? Santa is at every home at the same time yet is never seen? Perhaps something similar has happened with the probes? Regards, Hank

Hello, (Kudos for phrasing the $subject :-) A little exposure of internals: the processes that tag probes (based on results received from the probes) have various safeguards to avoid unfair tags and untags. Unfortunately in this case the "these two tags are mutually exclusive" was not used. In addition the wrong tag was not removed due to a different (otherwise generally useful) protection mechanism. After realising this we convinced the system to apply the correct tags, and have ideas on how to avoid this happening in the future. Thank you for bringing this up!
