We can do better than that. You already have the option to name your probe whatever you like, so you can label it “The one in Dad’s basement” and then the next time you get that email, it’ll include the name instead of just “Probe #20689”.

So, to edit the probe name, just log into RIPE Atlas go to your probe page, then click the Edit button (screenshot attached). The form that appears includes a Name: field. Fill that in with whatever you like and then click Save. The new name is now applied, and will appear at the top of the page the next time you visit. All emails that mention this probe will now use this new name.
