Hey Randy, Typically these sticks have a wear levelling algorithm. My best guess would be that filling the stick with garbage would cause it to reallocate any failed blocks on the flash memory and substitute them with working blocks. How well/long that will last depends on the amount of writes to disk, the amount of ‘good’ sectors available and the quality of the wear levelling algorithm. But as said, its a guess. Cheers, Michel

You should be able to order a stick from the net. I would also check the USB power cable (the USB A - Mini-B cable), and the power supply. If the unit doesn’t get enough power a similar problem may occur.
power measures as good. will order a usb replacement. but, in the meantime, jaap suggested reformatting the current stick to something silly so the software would fully reformat it to atlas friendly. for the moment, that seems to have worked.
