We never switched the preference but HTML was always
the initial preference. You are probably thinking of the time when we
ONLY send text emails but that was never a preference, that was simply
the only way we could send emails.

I'm fascinated by this entire chat btw. For all the grit and hard work
put in by the Atlas team (thank you btw!) into making an excellent back-
and front-end for online measurements, the mailing list seems to be
unable to escape from the glaring headlights of a modern day
plaintext-vs-html email debate. Didn't the rest of the world move on in
the late 1990s?
