i was about to ask if i could get v5 instead unsure to where i'll need to send my phone as post needs it for better routing. you obviously know exact address this is at what to do with old one tho? i doubt you want it back? maybe you can hand over to me somehow. either by access or legally. so i could use it until it electrically fails. it does have some power left still. it's a networked device or i could actually run it too until you abadon it for good in your backend btw, funny story. when i received it in 2013, it came in just letter envelope and looked like it has been opened. i was wtf but then it's src addr was .nl and they do have cannabis legally available. so maybe it was that. i will never know On August 7, 2024 11:55:10 AM GMT+03:00, Christopher Amin <camin@ripe.net> wrote:
Hello,
Looking at this case more closely, it seems likely that it is a hardware issue and not related to anything on the RIPE Atlas infrastructure. V2 (and V1) probes such as yours are not updated anymore due to severe limitations in their capabilities compared with later versions, so they don't receive new firmware updates.
I will send an e-mail to you privately and we can arrange for you to get a replacement probe of a later version.
Regards, Chris

manual power cycle again?
it doesn't reconnect now
sad if you managed to broke so probes need next intentional it unintentional power loss
last time i also noticed that probe is up for less than it was powered in, assuming it had rebooted for x y z reason
right now it keeps sosing for 5d3h already
if you can, you could remotely command it to reboot. might have been issue with other probes too. i bet you don't really can ask everyone reboot them by hand
if this issue isn't fixed, it needs fix. eh, losing part of monitoring network
Hello Sulev-Madis,
Would you mind trying again? There have been some glitches over the weekend but these should have been resolved.
Please let me know.

i meant there were recent updates to ripe atlas i noticed
the recent power outage is separate issue
but i noticed problems appearing at same time. as it is always powered, i'm suspecting it now had to reconnect or maybe it also reflashes new updates on boot, so now it's different. but i don't know what's happening here. hence the question! ----- To unsubscribe from this mailing list or change your subscription
