Weird issue with Probe 54041
by J S 20 Sep '26

20 Sep '26

Hey team, my Probe 54041 stops working every couple of days. It always show connected but it does not send any measurements data. Any idea what could be wrong? After cold reboot it works for some time and then again. Cables and power source replaced couple of times. It is directly connected to Vodafone provided router, but it probably does not matter. It is in remote location so I can't get there frequently. Cheers Jiri

*Ray Bellis,* Now I can see the details of the disconnection a bit more clearly; thanks for your reply: https://ripleatlas.netlify.app/?q=ab928 thanks... Request for RIPE Atlas credits for RPKI measurements
by Alexander Männel 18 Sep '26

18 Sep '26

Dear RIPE Atlas community, my name is Alexander Männel and I'm a PhD student at the Chair of Distributed and Networked Systems at TU Dresden. I currently use RIPE Atlas measurements to track how dataplane paths change once the ROV status of an announcement changes. Given the coverage that I aim to achieve and the number of events like this that happen, these measurements require a large amount of credits. To be able to continue these measurements for at least four weeks I'm therefore seeking 200 million credits. I'm grateful for any donation that helps to achieve this number! My RIPE Atlas e-mail: alexander.maennel(a)tu-dresden.de Some preliminary findings were already presented at IETF126: https://datatracker.ietf.org/meeting/126/materials/slides-126-sidrops-measu… Thank you for considering my request! Request for RIPE Atlas credits for public DNS research
by Dipsy Desai 17 Sep '26

17 Sep '26

Dear RIPE Atlas community, My name is Dipsy Desai and I am a fourth year Ph.D. student at University of Southern California. I am conducting a research study examining the routing, performance, and data-residency properties of public recursive DNS services across India. The study will compare Bharat Public DNS (1.10.10.10) with global public resolvers using RIPE Atlas DNS measurements and traceroutes. We will begin with a small pilot (which we anticipate would consume about 60,000 credits) and then expand to a multi-week study across geographically and topologically diverse Indian probes. The measurements will examine latency, availability, routing variation, and client-to-resolver path locality. For the complete study and independent validation measurements, I am seeking up to 4,500,000 RIPE Atlas credits. Any partial donation would also be greatly appreciated. Only established public DNS services and research-controlled infrastructure will be targeted. We intend to make the measurements, analysis code, and results publicly available where possible. My RIPE Atlas account for credit transfers is: deepakde(a)usc.edu Thank you for any support you may be able to offer to this research. Best regards, Dipsy

Request for a small amount of RIPE Atlas credits for latency testing
by Sim Xerox 14 Sep '26

14 Sep '26

Hello, I am a new RIPE Atlas user and I would like to run a few one-off ping and traceroute measurements from a specific Bouygues Telecom probe (AS5410) in southwest France. My goal is to compare network latency and routing between ISPs towards the same Internet targets. My RIPE Atlas credit balance is currently 0. Would anyone be willing to transfer me around 1000 RIPE Atlas credits? This would be more than enough for the few measurements I would like to perform. I can provide my RIPE NCC Access email privately if needed for the credit transfer. Thank you very much for your help. Kind regards, Simon

Request for RIPE Atlas Credits for PhD Research on Tor Path Measurements
by xt s 08 Sep '26

08 Sep '26

Dear all, Thank you again for the very generous support. I have now received more than enough RIPE Atlas credits for the planned experiments, so no further credit donations are needed at this point. I sincerely appreciate everyone who contributed. The support from the RIPE Atlas community has been extremely helpful, and I will make careful use of the credits for the research. Best regards, Xiaotian Suo PhD Student School of Cyberspace Science and Technology Beijing Institute of Technology

Request for RIPE Atlas Credits for PhD Research on Tor Path Measurements
by xt s 07 Sep '26

07 Sep '26

Dear RIPE Atlas community, My name is Xiaotian Suo, and I am a PhD student at the School of Cyberspace Science and Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology. I am working on a research project studying AS-level exposure and routing asymmetry on Tor client-to-Guard and Exit-to-destination paths. We plan to use RIPE Atlas traceroutes to calibrate and validate data-plane path-inference models. Our initial experiment is deliberately small. We plan to run approximately 20 one-off IPv4 ICMP traceroutes as a smoke test, followed by a paired pilot covering around ten AS-level endpoint pairs in both directions over three measurement rounds. The initial stage should consume fewer than 10,000 credits. If the pipeline works as expected, we would like to expand the study to additional AS pairs, probes, and time windows, and to construct an independent confirmation dataset. For this staged research campaign, I am therefore looking for up to 1,000,000 RIPE Atlas credits. Any partial donation would already be very helpful. Only safe, publicly reachable infrastructure will be used as measurement targets; residential or private end-user addresses will not be targeted. We also intend to make the measurement results available for research reproducibility where possible. My RIPE Atlas account for credit transfers is: xts1774(a)gmail.com Thank you very much for supporting this research and for maintaining the RIPE Atlas infrastructure. Best regards, Xiaotian Suo PhD Student School of Cyberspace Science and Technology Beijing Institute of Technology

Request for credits for reachability research
by Дмитрий Воропаев 07 Sep '26

07 Sep '26

Hello everyone, I’d like to study how Internet censorship in several countries affects the reachability of my small infrastructure. I deployed my first RIPE Atlas software probe a few hours ago and plan to deploy more probes in the future. However, I haven’t received any credits yet and would like to run some initial ping and traceroute measurements. If anyone has some spare credits to share, I would really appreciate it. My RIPE Atlas account email is: voropaevdmtr(a)gmail.com Thank you! Best regards,
