Dead Atlas Probe (TP-Link)

Hi, I got a probe returned that was not able to connect to the Atlas network. The probe was doint nothing for 2 days, only the leftmost LED (Power) was on, nothing else seems to happen. I also had to learn, that after the probe was not working, the user cleared the USB-Stick. Is there a way to resurrect the probe? Hi The RIPE Atlas hosts earn credit for the time their probes remain connected. I think it could be better to receive additional credit whenever someone uses that probe to make measurement. And if crowded probes be more expensive, we can distribute the load between same probes better. -- Shahin Gharghi

Dear RIPE Atlas users, We're happy to announce that another RIPE Atlas anchor has joined the network and is now available as a target for probe hosts conducting their own user-defined measurements. The new anchor is called us-lan-as32244 and it is hosted by Liquid Web Inc in Lansing Charter Township, United States. Anchoring measurements (ping, ping6, traceroute and traceroute6) are scheduled towards this anchor from all the other anchors as well as several hundred probes, providing a continual overview of regional reachability. Results of these measurements are available as raw data in JSON format, and visualised on the map and "seismograph" with many configurable features. A short note to say 'thank-you' for the ability to configure the origination of an email message when the probe under my supervision has been offline for a short while. I was doing some work on my firewall today, and I neglected to re-plug the probe back into the USB port for power. The email informed me of my transgression. :) Mike.
