[RIPE-Atlas-Ambassadors] New features in 2013, plans & requests for 2014
Dear RIPE Atlas ambassadors, Thank you for helping us spread the love (& probes) for RIPE Atlas! We are pleased to announce several improvements in our internal procedures that are going to make your lives easier. New features ============ - You can now find the link to your ambassador probes and the administration interface on the website under "My Atlas" > "Ambassador Probes" - The registration procedure now requires hosts to type in *both* the MAC address and the probe ID; if they match, the probe will be "assigned" to the host (in the background, we will check if these correspond to the probes we allocated to you) - All your probes are now on one page, since removed probes-per-page display - The table headers are now sortable, which will help you when searching for your probes or hosts Plans ===== - Next week, we will sent an email reminding those hosts who have not yet registered or plugged in their probes to do so - Another feature request is to enable a search function (for now, you can use the browser search option to search for probes) - We are working on the webpages describing the ambassador process and procedures, and we will have them ready early next year Statistics ========== - There are 46 community members who are helping out as ambassadors! - Forty of our colleagues from the RIPE NCC are doing the same when they go to conferences or training courses - In total, there were around 1,500 probes distributed via ambassadors in 2013 - Half of those probes have been plugged in and registered and are now active in the RIPE Atlas network Requests ======== Could you please remind your friends and colleagues who you've given probes to to complete all the steps, and actually register their probes? That way, they will be able to earn credits and perform their own customised measurements, and we will be able to contact them by email if the probe disconnects. They can register here: https://atlas.ripe.net/register If you did not tell us who you gave the probe to, please do :) Also, we would like to ask you for your experiences - success stories, anecdotes and photos - from your adventures with distributing and using RIPE Atlas probes and measurements. And, as a new thing you can promote, we recently launched RIPE Atlas anchors! There are currently 26 anchors up and running and we have 30 more open applications, but we are still looking for more locations in Russia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and the Pacific, and Latin America. You can find out more at: https://atlas.ripe.net/about/anchors/ Mailing list ======== I have added you all to the new mailing list: https://www.ripe.net/mailman/listinfo/ripe-atlas-ambassadors Please use it for discussion about your experiences as ambassadors, troubles, or feature requests :) Kind regards, Vesna Measurements Community Building Team RIPE NCC -- Season's Greeting from the RIPE Atlas team! https://atlas.ripe.net/media/community/action/originals/RIPE-Atlas-Christmas...

My probes are all distributed. I do not see on the Web page a "order more probes" button. Should I do it by email to atlas@ripe.net?
