RIPE Atlas ambassador monthly report
Dear all, Starting this month, all RIPE Atlas ambassadors will receive monthly updates giving them a clear overview of their recent activities. Each update will contain a variety of useful statistics, including information on probe connection rates and connection issues. As an ambassador, you’ll also get a reminder of the amount of credits you've accumulated over the past few months, as well as the latest news on RIPE Atlas related developments and events. This is the first time we’ve sent out these updates, so do let us know if you have any questions, or if there’s anything else you’d like to be notified about in the updates. Kind regards, Lia Hestina On behalf of the RIPE Atlas team
Just got the email of Ambassador Report. This is great report. If possible, can we have the probeID of the breakdowns of the down probe? 19 of your probes are currently disconnected due to USB issues. The breakdown is as follows: - 16 probes have a corrupted file system - 2 probes have no flash drive - 1 probe has a read-only USB stick So I can contact the host respectively. Thank you Budiwijaya On Mon, Jul 3, 2017 at 7:03 PM, Lia Hestina <lhestina@ripe.net> wrote:

Would be cool to get ambassador statistics, perhaps on the website in the same style as probe (prominent ones at least) statistics. Sent from my iPhone

Dear Colleagues, Hope you are doing well. I recently faced an issue with one of the old probes (been online for 2 years). It shows symptoms of a corrupted file system, but solution(s) provided on this page doesn't seem to be fixing it. https://atlas.ripe.net/docs/troubleshoot-probe-issues/ I have tried formatting the usb flash memory, as well as trying a brand new one. Also changed power adapter. Any clues? Regards, M. Tajbakhsh
I also have Problems because I am on the way with the boat international. Was often asked by boat owners to get a probe bit seems not to be compatible if you use it with moving place. Dear Wilfried Danke schon :) A moving probe is not the case this time. The probe has been placed in the office and connected via landline. Original flash were dead after a year or so, I had it running with a new one, and now trying a 3rd. But you made a point. Can a probable unobserved hit damage a working probe badly? (probe has no scratch as evidence if such a hit though) or was it an overlooked electrical shock? Finally the main question is whether that probe is beyond repair? Regards, M. Wilfried Gödert wrote:

I have tried formatting the usb flash memory, as well as trying a brand new one. Also changed power adapter. If you have tried replacing both the flash drive and the power adapter then the only other thing to try is changing the USB cable.
It's possible the probe is truly broken though in which case we can send you a new one. If you can send me the probe ID, I can check in our system if we see any signs of life. Kind regards, Johan ter Beest RIPE Atlas Team
Any clues?

Dear Johan I tried few usb cables as well, though there is little chance they are all faulty. Yes, please proceed. Probe ID is 24869 Yours, M. Johan ter Beest wrote:

In my case one of the probes was powered by the USB port of a router. That port didn't provide enough juice for the probe. Switching it to a dedicated power adapter fixed the issue. On Jul 19, 2017 8:43 AM, "M. Tajbakhsh" <tajbakhsh@shirazu.ac.ir> wrote:

I have dedicated power so I don't think that would be the case here. Thanks anyways. Ricardo Arturo Cabral wrote:
