Hi,

Probes should be tagged either as 'software' or with their hardware 'version', v[1-4]. V3 == tp-link, V4 == nanopi.

For the sake of reference and for the list, the hardware versions are described at the bottom of this page: https://atlas.ripe.net/about/probes/

The API will filter by tag if you ask it; for example, https://atlas.ripe.net/api/v2/probes/?tags=system-v4, or system-software, etc.

Cheers,

S.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the reply! I'm familiar with the tags, but don't see a tag for the architecture type (tp-link, nano pi et al.) on the hardware probes. I also wondered if there would be a way to filter on the probes search page: https://atlas.ripe.net/probes/

Thanks,
Marty

Hi Marty,

RIPE Atlas uses "System Tags" to apply this type of information to
individual probes.

Here is an example of a Software Probe:
https://atlas.ripe.net/probes/1000278/

Here is an example of a V3 Hardware probe:
https://atlas.ripe.net/probes/35433/

When creating new measurements you can choose to either include or
exclude certain tags depending on what you are trying to achieve.

Hope this helps!

Kind regards,
Matt
