Dear RIPE Atlas ambassadors,
thank you for your continued support of RIPE Atlas, and your efforts
to distribute the RIPE Atlas probes and record the hosts.
We are delighted to have 100 active RIPE Atlas ambassadors on board!
We regret to inform you that we have temporarily run out of RIPE Atlas
probes. We are currently purchasing and initialising 5,000 new probes
but this process will take at least a month. We are unable to ship any
additional probes until the beginning of July, at the earliest. If you
have already requested a new shipment, we will keep this request in our
"wait-queue" and evaluate it in July.
Our current goal is to increase the percentage of RIPE Atlas probes that
are active, rather than to continue distributing probes.
Therefore, we kindly ask you to:
- Record those to whom you gave probes (as many as possible)
- Remind people to plug in and register their probe
Over the next six months, we will focus on building the RIPE Atlas
network in geographical areas outside of the RIPE NCC service region.
Please let us know if you can help us in these efforts.
