Hello, Please note abstract registration is due on 24th May and Paper submission on May 31st. ==== CFP ===== ICNP, the IEEE International Conference on Network Protocols, is the premier conference covering all aspects of network protocol research, including design, analysis, specification, verification, implementation, and performance. ICNP 2023 will be held in Reykjavík, Iceland, between October 10-13, 2023(icnp23.cs.ucr.edu). Scope The conference is soliciting paper submissions with significant research contributions to the field of network protocol research. Both experimental studies, as well as formal investigations, are equally welcome. Topics traditionally of interest include, but are not limited to: + All aspects of network protocol research including design, specification, verification, implementation, measurement, testing, and analysis. + Protocols for cellular networks, data center networks, Internet of Things, sensor networks, social networks, software-defined networks, vehicular networks, and wireless networks. + Domain-specific solutions, including protocols for network security, routing, user privacy, and network management. + Network protocols meet AI/ML, e.g., application of AI/Machine Learning to improve network protocols and operations; networking and protocols for improving the performance of AI/Machine Learning systems. + Contributions to network architecture, e.g., algorithms and protocols for network virtualization or future Internet architectures. + Contributions to other areas of data communications to the extent that they articulate a strong connection to network protocols, for example by discussing potential implications on the design or performance of certain types of network protocols. Are approaches to "waste" as a meaningful intellectual category. Across the world, new bottom-up and self-governing enterprises are increasingly being set up by citizens and local communities in the fields of sustainable energy, the circular economy, shared mobility, food, care, and many others. Citizens hereby collectively govern and use resources as commons, through self-governance, according to the rules they decide upon as a group. How can such community and citizen-based enterprises scale their impact and transform society beyond markets and states? This is a critical and timely challenge, as scholars and policymakers have high expectations on the roles of communities and citizens to advance sustainability and resilience. Community and citizen-based enterprises are widely known to foster collective action locally. But what are the mechanisms through which they can achieve wider transformations to tackle urgent sustainability challenges such as climate change? What is the role of group size and heterogeneity for the resilience of – both historical and present-day – organisations and of society as a whole? These PhD and postdoc positions offer unique opportunities to delve into these fascinating topics and work together with other team members with expertise from various disciplines. There are however opportunities to be involved in teaching. Dear colleagues, in less than a month, RIPE NCC will be hosting another RIPE meeting and this time around we're heading to the great city of Rotterdam! The dates are 22-26 of May; registration is already open and draft agenda is published with the final version coming soon. For more details, check the official page: https://ripe86.ripe.net Leading up to the meeting, on May 9 NCC will organise a free online event where you can get a brief intro into RIPE NCC and RIPE community, as well as the information about the RIPE 86 meeting itself. The planned duration of the event is 1h and 30min. NCC has also set aside a limited number of free student tickets (for all 5 days of the conference). We especially encourage students from Dutch and neighboring universities to apply, but the offer is extended to all. ACM SIGCOMM 2023 Call for Tutorials and Hackathons: https://conferences.sigcomm.org/sigcomm/2023/cf-tutorials.html * Call for Tutorials and Hackathons * We are excited to announce that proposals for Tutorials and Hackathons for SIGCOMM 2023 can now be submitted at https://conferences.sigcomm.org/sigcomm/2023/cf-tutorials.html We seek to extend the SIGCOMM experience by tutorials on selected topics given by renowned scientists and practitioners in their fields. We therefore solicit proposals for full-day or half-day tutorials on topics relevant to the SIGCOMM community. We also solicit proposals to organize hackathons co-located with SIGCOMM. Tutorials must cover advanced topics that fit the scope of SIGCOMM and are of current interest to the SIGCOMM community. Tutorials may be lectures, interactive workshops, hands-on training, or any combination of the above. Successful tutorials educate the community members on emerging methods, concepts, and tools to expand the research capabilities of the community. Cross-disciplinary topics are also welcome. Exploring diverse ways of organizing the content, delivering the tutorial, and interacting with the audience are especially encouraged. A hackathon is an intense goal-oriented team-work activity organized in a sprint-like one-day event, where members from various backgrounds and expertise come together to work towards the stated goals of the hackathon. We encourage applications from all fields that fit the interest of the SIGCOMM community. The current plan is that SIGCOMM 2023 will be an in-person conference. Still, we ask the authors to have a "plan B" for an online tutorial/hackathon, in case there are unexpected travel restrictions due to COVID-19 at the time of the event. Tutorial and hackathon proposals should be submitted in PDF format, should not exceed three (3) pages in total, and be sent to the Tutorial/Hackathon Chairs via the submit button on the above web site.
