Dear colleagues, For the fifth year in a row, the RIPE NCC is committing to support activities and projects for 'the good of the Internet'. We are pleased to invite applications for funding from the RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund. Through the Community Projects Fund, the RIPE NCC distributes up to EUR 250,000 per year to support projects of value to the operation, resilience and sustainability of the Internet, with a focus on tools and services benefitting the technical community in the Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia. If you or your organisation are working on a new or existing project that fits the criteria below and need some financial support to get it off the ground or keep it going, we want to hear from you! Is your project of benefit to the Internet, particularly the RIPE community? Is your project non-commercial in nature? Do you have a clear project plan and timeline? Some things to keep in mind: - Funding may be used to purchase equipment, but this cannot be the sole expenditure - Funding cannot be used for humanitarian aid, donations, or to encourage political reform - Funding cannot be used to provide scholarships or cover tuition fees - Funding cannot be used to support any form of commercial activity The call for applicants will remain open until 23:59 (UTC), Saturday, 31 July 2021. Dear colleagues, Student Session 3 May --------------------- On Tuesday, 3 May, 17:00 – 18:30 CEST we are organising an online session. Three leading experts will give their thoughts on who controls the Internet, how we can measure the Internet and how to participate in running the Internet. Research Session on 16 May -------------------------- We are also organising our regular Academic/NREN session parallel to the RIPE 84 meeting. This one will take place on Monday, 16 May, 18:00-19:00 CEST. If you attend RIPE 84 in person, please go to the Main room. If want to attend online, you have to register for the RIPE 84. Registering to attend online is free of charge and you can attend any sessions you like. As you might know, the format is very informal. You can talk about: - Your recent research: it doesn't matter if it is published or not, finished or not. The topics we are interested in: network measurement and analysis, IPv6, routing, network security, peering and interconnectivity, IoT, Internet governance. - Any project of your university or NREN - maybe you launched a new popular course or created a new platform for online learning? Hi all, ICNP 2022 deadline to submit your papers is just about a month away (May 26), please consider submitting your work! Best, Ignacio ICNP, the IEEE International Conference on Network Protocols, is the premier conference covering all aspects of network protocol research, including design, analysis, specification, verification, implementation, and performance. ICNP 2022 will be held in Lexington, KY, USA from October 30 to November 2, 2022. Scope The conference is soliciting paper submissions with significant research contributions to the field of network protocol research. Both experimental studies as well as formal investigations are equally welcome. Topics traditionally of interest include, but are not limited to: All aspects of network protocol research including design, specification, verification, implementation, measurement, testing, and analysis. Protocols for cellular networks, data center networks, Internet of Things, sensor networks, social networks, software-defined networks, vehicular networks, wide area networks, and wireless networks. Domain-specific solutions, including protocols for network security, routing, user privacy, and network management. Network protocols meet AI/ML, e.g., application of AI/Machine Learning to improve network protocols and operations; networking and protocols for improving the performance of AI/Machine Learning systems. Contributions to network architecture, e.g., algorithms and protocols for network virtualization or future Internet architectures. Contributions to other areas of data communications to the extent that they articulate a strong connection to network protocols, for example by discussing potential implications on the design or performance of certain types of network protocols (e.g., those for supporting large-scale networked scientific computation applications). Authors who are unsure whether or not their submissions might fit the scope of the conference are welcome to contact the Program Committee Co-Chairs. A relevant call to share: *************************************** 12th International Conference on the Internet of Things (https://iot-conference.org<https://iot-conference.org/>) November 7-10 @ Technical University of Delft, The Netherlands The International Conference on the Internet of Things is the premier gathering for visionary and groundbreaking research in IoT and closely-related fields. It connects world-class researchers with leading industry experts to steer innovation in multiple IoT verticals (e.g., smart industry, smart cities, smart health, smart environment). Since its start in 2008, the conference has been backed by strong support from leading academic institutions as well as industry. Call for Workshop Proposals IoT 2022 invites full-day and half-day workshop proposals with a clearly defined scope that falls in the general topics of the conference. We also encourage submission of workshop proposals that follow alternative formats such as hackathons, plugfests, demo jams, and breakout sessions as long as they can be conducted in hybrid settings. Workshops should provide an informal and vibrant forum for researchers and industry practitioners to share their research results and practical experiences. This year, we encourage submissions related, but not limited to, IoT-enabled alternate realities as well as assured autonomy and resilient IoT. IoT 2022 will publish accepted workshop papers in companion proceedings to the conference’s main proceedings. Dear colleagues, We have 10 open research positions in our research team in Nantes, France, ranging from post-docs to research engineers. The duration of each position varies between 18 to 36 months. Most of the positions are in the context of an industrial research project, OTPaaS, that tackles several challenges in edge systems (what we call the "Cloud to IoT continuum"). We are also looking for a DevOps research engineer.
