Dear colleagues, A new RIPE Policy Proposal, 2024-02 "IPv6 Initial Allocations /28" is now available for discussion. This proposal aims to change the initial IPv6 allocation size from /29 to /28. 2024-01 Extended Discussion Phase (Revised IPv6 PI Assignment Policy)

Dear colleagues, The Discussion Phase for RIPE Policy Proposal 2024-01 "Revised IPv6 PI Assignment Policy" has been extended to allow for more feedback on the mailing list and at the upcoming RIPE 89 in Prague. This proposal aims to define End Sites and requirements for “IPv6 PI Assignments” and “Assignments from IPv6 Allocations”, clarifies permitted use cases and introduces IPv6 PI issuance at the Nibble boundary and new principles for aggregation and registration. Dear colleagues, A new RIPE Policy Proposal, 2024-01, "Revised IPv6 PI Assignment Policy" is now available for discussion. This proposal aims to define End Sites and requirements for “IPv6 PI Assignments” and “Assignments from IPv6 Allocations”, clarifies permitted use cases and introduces IPv6 PI issuance at the Nibble boundary and new principles for aggregation and registration. Dear Colleagues, The RIPE policy “IPv4 Address Allocation and Assignment Policies for the RIPE NCC Service Region” has been updated to align with the implementation of NWI4, done in Whois release 1.112, which added the option to change the status of an IPv4 allocation object in the RIPE Database from “ALLOCATED PA” to “ALLOCATED-ASSIGNED PA” when the whole address space is assigned to the LIR infrastructure or for use by an End User with services provided by the issuing LIR. 2023-04 Proposal Accepted (Add AGGREGATED-BY-LIR status for IPv4 PA assignments)

Dear colleagues, Consensus has been reached on 2023-04 "Add AGGREGATED-BY-LIR status for IPv4 PA assignments". This proposal aimed at introducing the AGGREGATED-BY-LIR status for IPv4 PA assignments to reduce LIR efforts in registration and maintenance. Dear colleagues, Proposal 2023-04, "Add AGGREGATED-BY-LIR status for IPv4 PA assignments " is now in Concluding Phase. The goal of this proposal was to introduce the AGGREGATED-BY-LIR status for IPv4 PA assignments to reduce LIR efforts in registration and maintenance. The WG co-chairs have declared that rough consensus has been reached and the proposal will now move to Last Call. As per the RIPE Policy Development Process (PDP), the purpose of this four-week Concluding Phase is to give an opportunity to present well-justified objections for those who missed the previous two phases and wish to oppose the proposal. Any objection must be made before 9 April 2024 and must be supported by an explanation. If no substantive objections are raised by the end of Last Call, the proposal will complete the PDP and will be evaluated by the WG co-chairs for final consensus. As per the RIPE Policy Development Process (PDP), the purpose of this Review Phase extension is to continue discussing the proposal taking the impact analysis into consideration, and to review the full draft RIPE Policy Document.
