Dear colleagues, A new RIPE Policy Proposal, 2025-02, "Revocation of Persistently Non-functional Delegated RPKI CAs" is now available for discussion. This proposal suggests providing a mandate to the RIPE NCC to revoke resource certificates associated with longtime non-functional CAs to reduce Relying Party workloads. 2024-02 Review Phase (IPv6 Initial Allocations /28)

Dear colleagues, Policy proposal 2024-02, "IPv6 Initial Allocations /28 ", is now in the Review Phase. This proposal aims to change the initial IPv6 allocation size from /29 to /28 and allow one IPv6 allocation extension per member to /28 without justification. This proposal has been updated and it is now at version 3.0. The main difference from version 2.0 is that one IPv6 allocation extension up to /28 without justification is allowed per member instead of per LIR. The RIPE NCC has prepared an impact analysis on this proposal to support the community’s discussion. This proposal aims to to simplify requirements for new ASNs, while ensuring that the requirements are enforceable in practice and preventing the exponential exhaustion of 32-bit ASN space. 2024-02 New Version Policy Proposal (IPv6 Initial Allocations /28)

Dear colleagues,    RIPE policy proposal 2024-02, "IPv6 Initial Allocations /28 " is now available for discussion again.   This proposal aims to change the initial IPv6 allocation size from /29 to /28.  Following the last round of discussion, this proposal has been updated and it is now at version 2.0.  The main differences from version 1.0 are that it allows the provision without additional documentation of initial allocations from /32 up to /28, instead of /32 or /28, and only a single existing allocation extension per member. Dear colleagues, The Discussion Phase for RIPE Policy Proposal 2024-01 "Revised IPv6 PI Assignment Policy" has been extended to allow for more feedback on the mailing list and at the upcoming RIPE 89 in Prague. This proposal aims to define End Sites and requirements for “IPv6 PI Assignments” and “Assignments from IPv6 Allocations”, clarifies permitted use cases and introduces IPv6 PI issuance at the Nibble boundary and new principles for aggregation and registration. RIPE Policy document updated “IPv4 Address Allocation and Assignment Policies for the RIPE NCC Service Region” (ripe-826)

Dear Colleagues, The RIPE policy “IPv4 Address Allocation and Assignment Policies for the RIPE NCC Service Region” has been updated to align with the implementation of NWI4, done in Whois release 1.112, which added the option to change the status of an IPv4 allocation object in the RIPE Database from “ALLOCATED PA” to “ALLOCATED-ASSIGNED PA” when the whole address space is assigned to the LIR infrastructure or for use by an End User with services provided by the issuing LIR. 2023-04 Proposal Accepted (Add AGGREGATED-BY-LIR status for IPv4 PA assignments)

Dear colleagues, Consensus has been reached on 2023-04 "Add AGGREGATED-BY-LIR status for IPv4 PA assignments". This proposal aimed at introducing the AGGREGATED-BY-LIR status for IPv4 PA assignments to reduce LIR efforts in registration and maintenance.
