Good News - Timeslot at RIPE66 confirmed for OpenSource WG/BoF

Everyone, finally we got the time slot confirmed. We managed to get the 90 minute slot from the ENUM WG (who doesn't need it this time) and are now set for 16:00 to 17:30 on Thursday afternoon. (Sorry, it runs parallel with the MAT WG slot this time) The Meeting Agenda is already updated and shows the slot https://ripe66.ripe.net/programme/meeting-plan/ Now we can go back to the actual planning (and allocate times) and make best use of the time. We have requests/proposals for the following topics: - Open Home Gateway Forum (Introduction to the project and background in it) - Kea (the new DHCP server effort by ISC) - Roundtable on community support / funding / sponsorships and lessons learned there (and discussion on how to get it better) [If you are part of some Open Source project in this community and want to join the discussion and/or present then please contact me (Martin) off-list for planning] - Bird update - Quagga update (actually thinking about skipping this to give more time to other talks - unless there is a big interest) If you want to present anything not listed here (or something I forgot), then please speak up as soon as possible either here in public or send email to me or Ondrej. OpenSource Discussions at upcoming RIPE Meeting

Hey everyone, things are slowly moving into place. We now have a slot at the next RIPE meeting in Dublin, but still trying to confirm the length of it. We hope for a 2 hour slot as it was discussed at the closing plenary during the last RIPE meeting. We have a few ideas on what should/can be presented, but would love to get more feedback from the community. Is there some OpenSource software you are using in your network and we should try to get some of the authors to attend? Maybe you know them personally? Anyone here involved in OpenSource and wants to give an update on the project? Additionally, I would like to do some roundtable to talk about financing OpenSource software. I would love to get a few people involved in OpenSource projects to come and talk about their success and struggle - and have a discussion with the community on why they give (or don't give) any support in financial or any other ways to an opensource project. Now is the time to speak up: What do you like to hear / discuss in relation to OpenSource software? Which projects should we try to invite? Discussion is open... - Martin Winter
