Joint Evaluation of Requests by The RIPE NCC and AfriNIC
[Apologies for duplicate postings] Dear Colleagues, The RIPE NCC has been working very closely with AfriNIC (The African Network Information Center) to prepare for their emergence as a new Regional Internet Registry. As part of this transition process, the RIPE NCC and AfriNIC will conduct joint review of all IP and AS Number requests coming from the emerging AfriNIC region. Effective September 1, 2004, the RIPE NCC will be forwarding all requests for IP address space and Autonomous System Numbers to AfriNIC, if the request is within the defined region proposed for AfriNIC. These requests will be co-evaluated by the RIPE NCC and AfriNIC. If you would like more information about AfriNIC, or if you have not yet manifested your support, please visit the AfriNIC website or send an e-mail to <contact@afrinic.net>. http://www.afrinic.net More information can also be found on our website at: http://www.ripe.net/ripencc/afrinic/ Regards, Axel Pawlik Managing Director RIPE NCC
