Re: [ncc-services-wg] Policy Document URLs
Hi Angela,
On www.ripe.net, the tab "Publications" leads to the RIPE Document store (https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs)
There, under "RIPE Documents by Category" you can find a link to all RIPE current documents (https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-documents) and the links to different groups of documents.
You’re describing the path of where to click to reach the documents. What was requested were stable URLs to link to specific documents. We don’t want to tell people how to navigate the RIPE website. We want to link to a document :) Cheers Sander
Hi Sander, Got it, thanks for claryfing. I will ask Webservices tomorrow about this. Cheers, Angela On 23/10/2021 12:18, Sander Steffann wrote:

Hi Angela,

Super. Thanks! Sander
Hi Cynthia, Sander, all, We've had this hidden feature working for a while now, but we can expand on it. Currently, a few of the most prominent and frequently updated RIPE Documents are given an alias. Using Cynthia's request as an example: https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ipv6-policy will always point to the latest RIPE Document version of "IPv6 Address Allocation and Assignment Policy". When that document (currently ripe-738) is obsoleted by a new version, we also update the alias to point to the new document. We don't currently publish a list of these aliases, but it's a great idea! We'll discuss internally with Angela how best to do this, and have this information published ASAP. In the meantime, if you need these aliases more urgently, send an email to webmaster@ripe.net and we'll help you out. Cheers, Oliver Payne Web Services Team Lead RIPE NCC

Hi all, Just to follow up, we've now published a list of aliases for the most commonly referred to RIPE Documents - https://www.ripe.net/publications/docs/ripe-document-aliases. These aliases will always point the visitor to the latest version of the RIPE Document in question. Thanks again for this suggestion, please let us know if you have any recommendations for improvement. Cheers, Oliver
