There is a proposal on the table, which got shot down by a number of
individuals that claim that "selling IPv4 addresses" is crucial to their
businesses.  I can find this shady as much as I want, but it is still
clear that there is no consensus for the original proposal.

Thus, alternatives have been proposed, so you and Max can continue to
sell IPv4 addresses, while others can keep the Infrastructure up and
provide services.
