RIPE request forms

Hi, it seems that all the textual request forms we earlier used to interact with the e-mail based request handling service at the RIPE NCC has now been made much harder to find at the RIPE NCC web site. The underlying assumption seems to be that since the e-mail interaction with the RIPE NCC is now obsoleted, the only use for these forms has ceased to exist, so the documents have been made obsolete and can now only be found by searching. Finding the newest version of each of the individual request forms requires even more tedious work. This overlooks the fact that these documents are also very convenient one-piece collections of "this is the information we as a LIR require from you as an applicant to complete the application process for some resource with the RIPE NCC". Instead, me acting as a LIR is left with the LIR portal piecemal doling out the individual questions it wants answers to in multiple interaction steps, where each of the steps potentially require another interaction with the applicant. Subject: Text-Based Email Request Forms Now Archived

Dear colleagues, On 7 October 2014, we announced our timeline for phasing out the text-based email request forms on our website: https://www.ripe.net/ripe/mail/archives/ncc-services-wg/2014-October/002890… As part of this, we have now archived all of the email request forms and supporting notes, except for ENUM requests. To request IPv4, IPv6 or ASNs from the RIPE NCC, members should now use either the request forms available through the LIR Portal, or the Resource Request API which has been developed for members with workflows preventing them from using the LIR Portal forms. You can find the API and supporting documentation here: https://www.ripe.net/data-tools/developer-documentation/resource-request-api In the interests of transparency, we have also published the information that LIRs need to provide in order to complete a request form. You can find this here: https://www.ripe.net/lir-services/resource-management/supporting-notes-for-… In case members require additional time to adjust their internal processes, our systems will continue to accept email-based request forms for a further three months, until the end of May 2015. Contact Management Project Update

Dear colleagues, On 19 January 2015, we outlined our plans to improve the way members can manage their contact information in the LIR Portal: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/mail/archives/ncc-announce/2015-January/000888.html The two-week period for feedback has ended, and we would like to thank you for your comments, which we are taking into account as we continue work on this project. We will begin by consolidating the LIR Portal categories on Wednesday, 11 February 2015. We will inform all RIPE NCC Members / LIR Portal Administrators separately so that everyone is aware who has access to their account and how to adjust this, if needed. [news] Simplifying Contact Management in the LIR Portal

Dear colleagues, As part of a wider RIPE NCC effort to improve usability for our members, and to make our processes more intuitive and easier to understand, we are planning to improve the way members can manage their contact information in the LIR Portal. Internet Number Resources Approved to the RIPE NCC

2014-06 Last Call for Comments (Publication of Sponsoring LIR for Legacy Internet Resource Holders)

Dear colleagues, The proposal described in 2014-06, "Publication of Sponsoring LIR for Legacy Internet Resource Holders", is now in its Concluding Phase. The RIPE NCC Services Working Group co-Chairs have declared that consensus for the proposal has been reached and it will now move to Last Call. As per the RIPE Policy Development Process (PDP), the purpose of these coming four weeks of Last Call is to give the community the opportunity to present well-justified objections in case anyone missed the previous two phases and want to oppose the proposal. Any objection must be made before 13 February 2015 and must be supported by an explanation.
