Dear Colleagues, This is a call for nominations or volunteers to co-chair the RIPE NCC Services working group. *************************************************************** Please DO NOT reply to this message if you wish to volunteer or propose a volunteer. *************************************************************** Call for RIPE NCC Services Working Group Chair ---------------------------------------------- In accordance with the chair selection process we announce that the term of one of our co-chairs (Kurtis Lindqvist) will soon expire and we would like to invite volunteers, or nominations for someone to become a co-chair of the RIPE NCC Services working group. Anyone may volunteer, and anyone may be nominated by someone else. To do this, please send a mail to <ncc-services-wg-chairs(a)ripe.net> before the end of Tuesday 13th October 2020. It would be helpful for candidates to give some words as to why they think they ought to be a co-chair, what new ideas, or improvements they might bring, and so on. We will publish the list of volunteers, along with anything the volunteers include with their nomination, to this mailing list on Wednesday 14th October 2020. Discussion and support (or opposition) for each candidate can then be offered on the list. At the NCC Services working group session at RIPE 81, Bijal and Rob hope to announce consensus based on the mailing list discussion. RFQ: Selectively blocking senders from distribution on mail list server side

Dear NCC Services WG, BrainMill has recently been forced to adopt a policy of blocking certain list members of RIPE mailing lists due to the content having negative information value. BrainMill wishes to petition a feature addition to the RIPE NCC mailing list servers: As a list subscriber I would like to be able to manage a FROM based permit/reject filter effectuated on the mailing list server side controlling distribution to my own subscription. The benefit of blocking specific sender's from further distribution to list subscribers includes less wasted energy in processing blocked senders. Cleanup Locked Person Objects in the RIPE Database (Implementation on 3rd June)

Dear colleagues, As previously announced, the RIPE Database Team plan to clean up locked person objects in the RIPE Database. We will select person objects maintained by RIPE-NCC-LOCKED-MNT, which are referenced by inetnum allocations or assignments, and re-assign them to the resource maintainer, so they can be properly maintained, and it is clear who is responsible for them. We now plan to perform this cleanup on Wednesday, 3 June 2020. We have already notified the affected LIRs and resource maintainers by email. You do not need to take any action. After my comment in the Addressing Policy meeting, I decided to go ahead with this email, maybe it can a provocation for some inputs in the open mic ... Note that this text is from my AFRINIC proposal (to make it quick now), so disregard parts that may not correctly matches the RIPE NCC situation and may be some of the things are already done here. Text: ***** "The Policy Compliance Dashboard” shows to each member its status of policy compliance, collected by means of a periodical review, automated as much as possible. The dashboard will show all possible details to match the policies and RSA, such as: * Contractual obligations (such as status of payments or documents). * Lack of response from the member. * Unused or unannounced resources (where mandatory). * Unavailable or outdated Whois information. * Lack of maintenance of the reverse delegation. * Forbidden sub-assignments (from PI assignments). * Unauthorized transfers. * Tracking of repeated and/or continued policy violations. The dashboard automation will need to be accommodated along policies evolves thru the PDP, in order to display new details. The dashboard will automatically send notifications of the status of compliance to members, after each review or dashboard update. Reminders will be periodically sent in case of any lack of compliance. Hi, What's the main idea for this "policy compliance dashboard"? Something that any LIR can click a button or go to a menu on the LIRPortal and see a list of inconsistencies from the RIPE NCC's point of view...? Can it be some kind of on-demand/self-service ARC (Assisted Registry Check), without requiring a NCC staff member (registration services) live support?
