Hi Nik, I think the car analogy would work better in assuming that if the car is a "company car" and not a private vehicle, then the identity should be publicly available. We are not talking of individual rights, but. For instance a lawyer's business address (or a dentist and so on) is publicly available - on registries, online, basically everywhere, however their home address not, and this without being a threat to a privacy, or individual rights. Does it make sense to you? In this example cops are ok, passers-by meh... My point is that sole proprietorships may become backdoors to sensitive data. Big companies are not required to register the home address of their legal representative, so why should small ones? Let's just find a mechanism to preserve personal data from becoming public domain. This will give dangerous details to various violent groups, such as G*mergate, St*rmfr*nt, police officers, "copy""right" "owners", as well as stalkers and people who wish to commit violence against us. If the cops want my home address: get a warrent. Strong strong strong opposition to this.

I am one of the thousands of sole proprietorship, and my billing address is also my home address. There must be a way to register the IP addresses to my company (that has much less privacy rights than me), still preserving my personal rights. Big data can correlate ip addresses and companies just using VAT numbers or chamber of commerce registration numbers. Authorities have no trouble obtaining addresses, and people in bad faith can still provide fake addresses. I'm against this backdoor^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H policy. Regards,

Greetings, While this proposal can benefit from some tweaks, i believe it is a step in the right direction, in terms of transparency and the (partial?) cleanup of bogus data in the RIPEdb, thus i support this proposal. I also think that all the impact assessments triggered by this proposal will be very interesting. Hello, that doesn't make any sense. In reported case, zone delegation was just missing on authoritative nameserver. After issue was fixed at DNS server, *your* server was still caching *negative* answer and refusing object creation (even zone was created on our nameserver). There's no reason to simulate "client behavior" by caching some results locally (and delay object creation just due to that). Current behavior leads to false-positives during object creation/update and causes misleading error messages for web-updates end-users. DNS servers should be queried always directly while checks are performed during object creation/update to provide accurate (real) data. >From my perspective this is a bug in current implementation of DNS-related checks at NCC side.
