Introducing the IP Analyser

Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC is proud to introduce the IP Analyser. It has been available as a preview in the LIR Portal for several weeks, but now it's time to properly introduce this brand new service that gives our members an insight into their IPv4 and IPv6 allocations and assignments. The ultimate goal is to offer a complete overview of all the IP resources you hold and inform you about everything related to them. The first release of the IP Analyser offers a basic feature set. We will then add new features incrementally going forward. More details can be found on RIPE Labs at: https://labs.ripe.net/Members/AlexBand/introducing-the-ip-analyser We encourage you to provide us with feedback on the IP Analyser by clicking the "Feedback" button in the LIR Portal. The RIPE NCC is now ready to accept requests for IPv6 PI assignments without multihoming being a requirement. PI and Anycast space marked as INFRA eligible for Resource Certification (RPKI)

Dear colleagues, I am happy to announce that the following Independent Internet number resources are now eligible for Resource Certification (RPKI): - IPv4 and IPv6 Provider Independent, listed in your LIR Portal account as "INFRA" - IPv4 and IPv6 Anycast, listed in your LIR Portal account as "INFRA" You can now create Route Origin Authorisations (ROAs) for the BGP announcements with this address space. Pay careful attention that *all* BGP announcements with your prefixes are RPKI VALID. You can verify this in the "My ROA Specifications" tab of the Resource Certification portal, under "Current BGP announcements". Please visit http://ripe.net/certification for more information. Test users for reimplemented asused (IP address usage analysis)

The RIPE NCC is working on reimplementing the webasused (http://bit.ly/AzZh59) and asused (http://bit.ly/zA5jtd) functionality. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive overview of your IPv4 and IPv6 address space, listing the assignments made, free space, overlaps, invalids and all other relevant information. Initially this will be offered in the LIR Portal web interface. After that we will also provide the ability to process the information locally so it can integrate in your IP address management workflows. In the first iteration, we will show your address space, the assignments you have made, and how much free space you have. We're looking for volunteers who are willing to test and provide feedback on the first beta of this functionality. We also want to hear what additional functionality is most important to you, so we can prioritse our roadmap further. With your input we can make this toolset as useful as possible. MD5 Password Security Update Deployed

Dear colleagues, [Apologies for duplicate emails.] The RIPE NCC is pleased to announce that the implementation of the MD5 password security change has now been fully deployed. This was discussed recently on the RIPE Database Working Group mailing list. The RIPE NCC was asked to implement the technical change as outlined in this RIPE Labs article: https://labs.ripe.net/Members/denis/securing-md5-hashes-in-the-ripe-database This deployment has an impact only when you modify a MNTNER object that contains an MD5 password. This can only be done using Webupdates. You must be one of the password holders to make changes. Operations on all other object types are unchanged. The RIPE NCC will now: - Send emails to contact addresses in all MNTNER objects containing MD5 passwords recommending a password change and suggesting that a strong password be used - Perform a small MNTNER clean-up by preparing a list of unreferenced MNTNER objects and deleting those that are still unreferenced one month later. If you have not followed this discussion, we recommend that you read the RIPE Labs article to ensure that you understand the new process for maintaining MNTNER objects in the RIPE Database.
