Please Migrate LIR Contracts by 1 April 2017

Dear colleagues, On 29 September 2016, we announced that we simplified user management in the LIR Portal while making communication with the RIPE NCC more secure for our members: https://www.ripe.net/ripe/mail/archives/ncc-announce/2016-September/001093.… We requested that an administrator for your LIR account go through a migration wizard to ensure there is a single list of authorised user accounts. If you have not yet done this, please migrate as soon as possible: https://my.ripe.net/#/contacts On 1 April 2017, we will remove any remaining LIR Contacts that have not been migrated. After that, these contacts will no longer be able to communicate with the RIPE NCC on the LIR's behalf - only people with an authorised user account will be able to. For most interactions with the RIPE NCC, such as requesting or transferring resources, a user account with LIR Portal access is required already. Administrators can always create a user account at any point if necessary. If the administrator for your LIR account does not currently have access to the LIR Portal, please see instructions here on how to get access: https://lirportal.ripe.net/getting_started If you have any questions about migrating your contacts or about your LIR account, please contact <ncc(a)ripe.net>. New RIPE NCC PGP Key

LIR Training Course Launches on RIPE NCC Academy

Dear colleagues, We are proud to announce the launch of the Local Internet Registry (LIR) Training Course on the RIPE NCC Academy, our virtual learning environment in which you can follow online courses and become certified in a particular area of expertise: https://academy.ripe.net/ We encourage all RIPE NCC members, new and old, to take this course. The LIR Training course has been at the core of our face-to-face training offering since 1993, and you can now take the course online and get certified for doing so. All RIPE NCC members can benefit from taking the course, but it is especially useful if: - You are a new member and want to learn how to interact with the RIPE NCC - You want to refresh your knowledge of policy and procedures - You want to know more about the RIPE Database, the LIR Portal and other RIPE NCC tools - You want to receive Internet resources and would like to understand how they are distributed - You want best practices on how to plan IPv4 and IPv6 assignments in your network - You want to have your knowledge of all the above certified If you have any feedback on the course, we would love to hear from you at <training(a)ripe.net>.
