Dear RIPE NCC members, At 11:30 (UTC+2) this morning, there were various RIPE NCC service outages. Some public facing services were affected. This included the rsync RPKI Repository and RIPE Database, our website www.ripe.net and other RIPE NCC websites such as the RIPE Meeting site, RIPE Labs and RIPEstat. There were also intermittent failures sending notification emails for Whois updates. Services were restored by 12:00 (UTC+2). Based on the information gathered so far, the outages were caused by a recent upgrade to our configuration management system, which in turn caused a race condition that affected the configuration of a number of servers.
