NRO Comments on ICANN to National Telecommunications and Information Administration
[Apologies for duplicate e-mails] Dear Colleagues, Sent on behalf of the NRO Secretariat. The NRO has submitted comments to the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). The NTIA asked for input on the transition of the technical coordination and management of the Internet Domain Name Server (DNS) to the private sector. The NRO endorses the current model for coordinating the Internet domain name and addressing system and believes this model supports the further growth and evolution of the Internet. The NRO believes that the Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Commerce and the Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) should not be renewed and the transition should continue along its path to the eventual completion. The complete text of the NRO statement is available at http://www.nro.net/docs/NRO_Comments_to_NTIA_NOI.pdf.
