[news] Starting our Abuse-c Validation
Dear colleagues, Next week, we will begin emailing LIRs with invalid abuse contacts in their RIPE Database ORGANISATION objects. We plan to send the first emails on Wednesday, 20 February. This is the first step in our implementation of the policy proposal 2017-02, "Regular abuse-c Validation", which was accepted last year. Once all LIR ORGANISATION objects have been validated, we will proceed with the validation of abuse contacts referenced in LIR resource objects and finally those referenced in End User (sponsored) objects. To save having to deal with this later, please take a moment to review your abuse contact information and make sure this is accurate. LIRs with abuse contacts that are maintained in the RIPE Database by third parties (e.g. End Users) are especially encouraged to think about reviewing this information sooner rather than later. You should not receive any emails from us if all of the abuse contacts that you are responsible for are valid. You can find updated information about our validation process on RIPE Labs, and we will keep you updated as we continue with our implementation: https://labs.ripe.net/Members/angela_dallara/how-we-will-be-following-up-wit... Thank you in advance for helping to keep the RIPE Database accurate and up-to-date. Kind regards Angela Dall'Ara Internet Resource Analyst RIPE NCC
