Among the presentations, Johan ter Beest from the RIPE NCC will look at ways to identify missed peering opportunities in the Middle East using RIPE Atlas and the Country IXP Jedi. You can follow the meeting via the webcast at: http://www.menog.org/live/ RIPE NCC GENERAL MEETING (GM) MAY 2017 The GM will take place from 10-12 May in Budapest. Today is the deadline to nominate or support a candidate. RIPE 74 BUDAPEST AND RIPE 75 DUBAI RIPE 74 takes place in Budapest, Hungary next month from 8-12 May. Have you registered yet? All the meeting details, including the draft programme, are at: https://ripe74.ripe.net/ We can announce that the RIPE 75 Meeting will take place in Dubai, UAE from Sunday, 22 October to Thursday, 26 October. CLEANING UP UNUSED AS NUMBERS There are currently around 6,600 Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs) in our service region that are not being advertised in the routing system. We plan to email the LIR or sponsoring LIR for each unannounced ASN and ask if the resource is still needed: https://www.ripe.net/s/jto6 HISTORICAL DATA CLEAN-UP We are working to clean up old data in the LIR Portal and will continue with this until 1 May 2017. If there is historical information you would like to retain, please visit the Resources section in the LIR Portal before the deadline to copy the data. https://lirportal.ripe.net/ RIPEstat GEOLOC HISTORY WIDGET Ever wonder where IP space was used previously? The Geoloc History widget provides you with a historical view on Maxmind's geo-IP data - a handy tool for IPv4 transfer checks: https://stat.ripe.net/widget/geoloc-history#w.resource=5.35.192.0/21 RIPE DATABASE WEB INTERFACE In the coming weeks, we'll be rolling out usability improvements to the web interface for the RIPE Database, including for multi-object updates with Syncupdates. We'll be posting news items as we introduce the changes to keep you up to date on the improvements. TRACEMON: NETWORK DEBUGGING MADE EASY The RIPE Atlas Team released TraceMON, a client-side tool for visualising network topology generated by traceroutes reaching one or more targets in a network. RIPE NCC ROUNDTABLE MINSK On 18 April, the RIPE NCC held a Roundtable Meeting for governments and law enforcement in Minsk, Belarus. A report on the meeting will shortly be published by the RIPE NCC. At the meeting, the RIPE NCC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Russian government.
