Reduction in IPv4 Allocation/Assignment Time Period
Dear Colleagues, From Thursday, 1 July 2010, the RIPE NCC will start to allocate enough IPv4 address space to Local Internet Registries (LIRs) to meet their needs for a period of up to nine months. The RIPE NCC and the LIRs will also start to assign enough address space to meet the requester needs for a period of up to nine months. We ask that you please note this change from the current 12-month period. This change is in accordance with RIPE Policy Proposal 2009-03, "Run Out Fairly". The full text of the policy proposal can be found at: http://ripe.net/ripe/policies/proposals/2009-03.html The following RIPE Documents have been updated to reflect this policy implementation: http://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/ripe-488.html http://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/ripe-489.html http://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/ripe-490.html http://www.ripe.net/ripe/docs/ripe-491.html If you have any questions about this, please send an email to <lir-help@ripe.net> Regards, Xavier Le Bris Registration Services
