[GM] RIPE NCC General Meeting November 2014: Register via LIR Portal
Dear RIPE NCC members, On behalf of the RIPE NCC Executive Board, I would like to invite you to register for the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) November 2014. The GM will be held on Wednesday, 5 November from 16:00-20:00 UTC at the Novotel London West Hotel in London, adjacent to the RIPE 69 Meeting, which runs from 3-7 November. The GM begins with presentation of the reports from the RIPE NCC in the RIPE NCC Services Working Group at 16:00. The formal, members-only section of the GM starts immediately after the RIPE NCC Services Working Group session. All information on the GM is available at: https://www.ripe.net/lir-services/ncc/gm/november-2014 NEW: Registration Through the LIR Portal ---------------------------------------- The RIPE NCC has implemented GM registration for attendance and voting through the LIR Portal. In order to register, you must be listed as an contact person for your organisation in the LIR Portal. This new registration process provides greater security for members, allows attendance and electronic voting registration to be carried out in one quick process, and allows members to more clearly see their voting status. Electronic Voting Registration ------------------------------ All organisations that have been members of the RIPE NCC longer than six months will receive an invitation to vote electronically. You can register to vote electronically from the GM Preferences page in the My LIR section in the LIR Portal: https://www.ripe.net/lir-services/ncc/gm/november-2014/gm-registration Those who choose to vote electronically will receive an email on 5 November with a link to the voting pages from the independent third party BigPulse, who we contract to carry out the voting. Extended Voting Window ---------------------- Following discussion on the members-discuss mailing list, the Executive Board has decided to extend the timeframe in which it is possible to vote electronically. Registration for electronic voting will remain open until 18:00 UTC on the day of the GM, 5 November 2014. The window for casting electronic votes will remain open until Friday, 7 November at 09:00 UTC. The Executive Board hopes that members will take advantage of the extended registration period and voting window by participating in the voting at the GM. Proxy Voting ------------ You can be represented by a third party who is not an authorised employee or director of your organisation. If you wish to do this, please fill out the proxy form and send it to us using the details on the form by 22 October 2014. Any proxy sent to us after this date will not be valid.
