Therefore, on Monday, 25 March we will apply the same DMARC mailing list settings for members-discuss as we have done for all of the RIPE Mailing lists we maintain. You can read more on RIPE Labs: https://labs.ripe.net/Members/adam_castle/ripe-mailing-lists-and-dmarc ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Your Technical Update ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- RPKI: Route Origin Authorisations (ROAs) Test Environment We created a test environment in the LIR Portal where you can experiment with creating ROAs before publishing them into production – just click the Dashboard link in the Resource Certification section: -- RIPE Database Releases RIPE Database release 1.92.6.2 introduced a limit on the maximum number of concurrent full-text searches to prevent memory exhaustion. RIPE Database release 1.93 mainly contains improvements in the validation rules, including email address validation, validation for bogon space in route(6) and validation for expired public keys when authenticating updates. You can find more information in the release notes: https://www.ripe.net/manage-ips-and-asns/db/release-notes/ripe-database-rele... -- New RIPE Atlas Version 4 Probes Read about the advantages of the new v4 Probes and how we are improving our distribution methods so we can get probes to you faster: https://labs.ripe.net/Members/alun_davies/new-ripe-atlas-version-4-probes -- Have You Updated Your Abuse-c Information? We are busy validating abuse contacts referenced in LIR organisation objects since 20 February. We have already fixed and confirmed valid around 1,700 email addresses that failed the automated test. Please take a moment to review your information and make sure it's up to date. LIRs with abuse contacts that are maintained by third parties (e.g. End Users) are especially encouraged to think about reviewing this information sooner rather than later. You can find more information on RIPE Labs: https://labs.ripe.net/Members/angela_dallara/how-we-will-be-following-up-wit... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. What’s Happening in Our Community? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- A New Policy Proposal to Tackle BGP Hijacks This policy proposal aims to reduce BGP hijacks by considering them a RIPE policy violation. Confirmed hijackers with resources from the RIPE NCC could face consequences if this proposed policy reaches a consensus. Join the discussion in the Anti-Abuse Working Group <anti-abuse-wg@ripe.net> by 16 April 2019. You can read the full proposal on our website: https://www.ripe.net/participate/policies/proposals/2019-03 -- RIPE Community Report 2018 RIPE Chair Hans Petter Holen writes about 2018 and shares an overview of RIPE community activities throughout the year in this compelling RIPE Labs article: https://labs.ripe.net/Members/hans_petter_holen/ripe-community-report-2018 -- The RPKI Deployathon in Brief The first RPKI Deployathon took place in Amsterdam on 7-8 March 2019.
