[news] 98th and 99th Executive Board Meetings - Summary Notes and Minutes

Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC Executive Board held its 98th meeting on 19 March 2015 and its 99th meeting on 1 April 2015. The draft minutes of these meetings are now available: https://www.ripe.net/about-us/executive-board/minutes/2015 The Executive Board publishes the minutes of its meetings so that the workings of the Board and the decisions it makes are transparent for the membership that it represents. The following is a summary of the main items from the meetings. Further details are available in the minutes. At the 98th Executive Board meeting: - The Board resolved that LIRs must pay the full annual fee for the year in question before commencement of a merger/transfer/closure procedure of an LIR account. - The Board proposes to continue with the existing charging scheme model with a lower service fee for 2016. The EUR 50 PI fee will remain and the fee for Legacy Resource holders with a direct contract will pay the same annual fee as LIRs. - The Board reviewed the agenda for the upcoming RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) and the supporting documents for the meeting. - The Board approved the continued extension of the voting window for the GM until the Friday morning of the RIPE Meeting at 09:00 until further notice. - The Board noted that the intention of RIPE Policy Proposal 2014-04 is not to destimulate the adoption of IPv6. - The Board discussed the proposed Joint RIR Stability Fund. This fund is intended to safeguard the RIR system in the unlikely event of an RIR requiring financial assistance. The RIPE NCC would reserve an amount that would contribute towards this Joint RIR Stability Fund. At the 99th Executive Board meeting: - The Board reviewed the membership discussion on charging for ASNs and noted that there was no conclusive outcome. The Board decided to have a resolution at the GM asking members to approve or reject a EUR 50 charge for ASNs. - The Board approved the RIPE NCC Annual Report 2014 including the RIPE NCC Financial Report 2014. [news] Successful launch of the redesigned RIPE NCC website

Dear colleagues, We’re pleased to announce that the redesigned RIPE NCC website has successfully launched and that all related applications and websites have also switched over to the new template, including RIPE Labs, the LIR Portal, RIPE Atlas and RIPEstat. The redesign was based on feedback from our members and the community, and focused on restructuring the content and making it easier to navigate, improving the search function, and creating a fresh, new look for the site. [GM] RIPE NCC Annual Report 2014 and GM Agenda

Dear members, The RIPE NCC Annual Report 2014, including the Financial Report 2014, is now available online. The Annual Report is a supporting document for the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM), which takes place from 13-15 May 2015. The supporting documents include the proposed Charging Scheme 2016 that members will vote on at the upcoming GM. If there are fewer than three confirmed candidates, the members will vote by resolution to appoint those candidates to the Executive Board. If there are three or more candidates, there will be an election to fill two seats using instant run-off voting. [GM] Reminder: Executive Board Nominations Deadline Approaching

Dear RIPE NCC member, This is a reminder that the RIPE NCC is calling for nominations to the RIPE NCC Executive Board. The deadline for submitting nominations is *22 April 2015*. Two vacant seats for three-year terms will be filled at the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) on 13-15 May 2015. One seat is to fill the place currently held by Dmitry Burkov, whose term expires in May 2015. A second seat is available following the membership's approval of a resolution to expand the Executive Board in October 2013. The document outlining the RIPE NCC Executive Board functions and expectations is available: https://www.ripe.net/about-us/executive-board/ripe-ncc-executive-board-func… All those considering standing for election to the board are advised to read this information. Voting -------- Voting for the election or appointment of the RIPE NCC Executive Board members will take place at the upcoming GM. [service] Planned Maintenance for Redesigned Website Launch

Dear colleagues, We have been hard at work getting our redesigned website ready for the launch next week, and are now in the final stages of the project. We've published a series of articles about the project and the latest one, which focuses on the new visual design, is now available on RIPE Labs: https://labs.ripe.net/Members/adam_castle/redesigning-the-ripe-ncc-website-… In order to make the switch to the new site, we have scheduled maintenance on Monday, 13 April from 5:30 - 7:30 UTC to work on the server infrastructure behind www.ripe.net. We don’t expect this work to impact visitors to the site, but there may be occasional disruptions during this time. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Beginning Monday, we hope you will take the opportunity to visit the new site and explore some of the new features. Once we have successfully switched over all applications and related websites to the new template, we will send another announcement.
