Hi everyone, The RIPE NCC is proud to support the RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund, providing EUR 250,000 per year for projects supporting Internet resilience and operations. Projects will be selected by a committee comprised of a RIPE NCC Executive Board Member and three volunteers from the RIPE community. [news] Unifying the LIR Portal and RIPE Database User Experience

Dear colleagues, We are pleased to announce that we have completed our integration of the LIR Portal and the RIPE Database web interface. Users will now have a seamless experience when managing their LIR and their resources, and editing objects in the RIPE Database. In the past, the LIR Portal and RIPE Database were maintained as separate applications with their own navigation and authentication. Today the distinction between these two services is no longer as relevant as it once was. The LIR Portal, which was originally intended only for members, also now caters to other resource holders (e.g. RPKI for Legacy Resource Holders and Provider Independent End Users). Similarly, the RIPE Database offers resource management options that were previously only available in the LIR Portal. The two navigation menus have therefore been unified into a single menu that is contextual - users will see only those items that are applicable to them. This functionality is also available for non-LIR users with a RIPE NCC Access account that is linked to an ORGANISATION object in the RIPE Database. This will make it easier for non members to use My Resources and the RPKI Dashboard. [news] NRO NC Call for Nominations: RIPE NCC Service Region

Dear colleagues, This is a call for nominations from the RIPE NCC service region to fill one vacant seat on the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number Council (NC). The term of Wilfried Woeber, who was appointed to the NRO NC by the RIPE NCC Executive Board in November 2014, ends on 31 December 2017. The RIPE NCC Executive Board will select one representative from the nominees to serve a three-year term on the NRO NC beginning 1 January 2018. The decision of the Executive Board will be announced at the RIPE 75 Meeting, which will be held in Dubai from 22-26 October 2017. The deadline for nominations is 22 September 2017. Any individual residing within the RIPE NCC service region is eligible for nomination, except Regional Internet Registry (RIR) staff members. Self-nominations are permitted. All nominees may submit a written statement in support of their nomination for publication on the RIPE NCC website. Other individuals may express support for nominated individuals by emailing <nominations(a)ripe.net>. All confirmed nominations will be listed on the RIPE NCC website by 25 September 2017. Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC Executive Board held its 112th meeting on 9 June 2017. The draft minutes of this meeting are now available: https://www.ripe.net/about-us/executive-board/minutes/2017/minutes-112th-ri… The Executive Board publishes the minutes of its meetings so that the workings of the Board and the decisions it makes are transparent for the membership that it represents. The following is a summary of the main items from the meeting. Further details are available in the minutes: - The Board discussed reporting fraudulent activity to the authorities and agreed that any report of fraudulent activity should be supported by evidence. The Board approved updates to three procedural documents and terms & conditions. - The Board approved the document "Terms of Service: RIPE NCC Website and Publicly Available RIPE NCC Services". - The Board reflected on the strategic meeting that was held jointly with the RIPE NCC Management on 8 June and asked the RIPE NCC to prepare a draft strategy document to be approved by the RIPE NCC Executive Board. - RIPE Chair Hans Petter Holen discussed several topics, including RIPE mailing list etiquette, the RIPE Chair selection process, and Internet of Things discussions at future RIPE Meetings. - The Board agreed that no further funding would be allocated to the Internet Protocol Journal. - The Board unanimously agreed that Dmitry Burkov would remain the ICANN Liaison for the RIPE NCC Executive Board.
