Dear RIPE NCC members, We would like to inform you that a request to close an LIR account or any request that will result in the closure of an LIR account should be submitted in full before 15 December 2018. This includes closures that result from policy transfers and changes in business structures. Any requests submitted after this date mean that you could be invoiced for 2019. The request should contain all the requested information and documents in order for RIPE NCC to process it before the end of the year. An overview of the required documents can be found at: https://www.ripe.net/manage-ips-and-asns/resource-transfers-and-mergers/req… For requests resulting in the closure of an LIR account that are submitted later than 15 December 2018, or requests that are incomplete, we can not guarantee that the LIR account will be closed before 31 December 2018. [news] Transfers Due to Change in Business Structure and Between LIR Accounts of One Member

Dear RIPE NCC members, We would like to inform you of changes relating to transfers due to a change in business structure (e.g., mergers and acquisitions) as specified in the new section 3.6 of ripe-709, "Transfer of Internet Number Resources and Change of a Member’s Official Legal Name”. Following a resolution at the Executive Board meeting on 7 September, when an member transfers IPv4 or 16-bit ASNs that are subject to the transfer restriction due to a change in business structure, the transferring LIR account needs to remain open until the new 24-month restriction on transfer of scarce resources has passed. If the receiving party already holds an LIR account, the LIR account of the transferring party will become an additional LIR account of the receiving party. In effect, consolidation of LIR accounts belonging to the same member is not possible until the 24-month restriction has passed. However, new 24-month restrictions will not be applied to these resources if they are further transferred between LIR accounts held by the same member after the initial restrictions have expired. This applies to all resources transferred between LIR accounts of the same member in all situations. This change is effective from 7 September 2018. Dear RIPE NCC members, The RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) was held from 17-19 October 2018 adjacent to the RIPE 77 Meeting in Amsterdam. There were 138 attendees, including RIPE NCC staff and observers from the other Regional Internet Registries (RIRs). The results of the voting on the resolutions are as follows: Resolution 1 - The General Meeting approves the redistribution of the excess contribution paid in 2018 by redistributing the RIPE NCC 2018 surplus to the membership in 2019. Yes – 996 No - 9 Abstain - 12 The resolution was approved. Resolution 2 - The General Meeting adopts the amendments to Article 12 of the Articles of Association. Yes - 852 No - 50 Abstain - 95 The resolution was approved. Resolution 3 - The General Meeting adopts the amendments to Article 13 of the Articles of Association. Yes - 882 No - 39 Abstain - 73 Resolution 4 - The General Meeting adopts the amendments to Article 18 of the Articles of Association. Yes - 860 No - 50 Abstain - 82 The resolution was approved. He and the other Board members feel that now is the right time to have another Executive Board Chairman and they agreed that Christian Kaufmann would take on the role of Chairman as of 14 September. To maintain a good degree of continuity and stability with the Board roles, Remco van Mook will remain as Executive Board Treasurer and Christian's former role as Executive Board Secretary will now be filled by Nigel. We look forward to the continued support and guidance of the Executive Board in its new setup and welcome Christian to the role of Chairman. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Nigel for the dedicated service he has provided to the RIPE NCC and its membership in his decade of chairing the Executive Board.
