Dear Colleagues, RIPE 61 took place last week from 15-19 November 2010. More than 430 people attended, making it the the most well-attended RIPE Meeting to date. RIPE NCC General Meeting 17 November 2010

Dear Colleagues, The RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) November 2010 was held Wednesday, 17 November, adjacent to the RIPE 61 Meeting, at the Westin Excelsior Hotel in Rome. There were 89 attendees, excluding RIPE NCC staff and observers from the other Regional Internet Registries. The RIPE NCC members approved the following formal resolutions at the GM: - "The General Meeting adopts the RIPE NCC Charging Scheme 2011" - "The General Meeting in accordance with Article 21 of the Articles of Association adopts the amendments to the Articles of Association as proposed and announced by the Executive Board on 20 October 2010." "Furthermore, the General Meeting instructs and authorises the Executive Board to perform or to have performed all that is required to have the amendments executed before a Dutch civil law notary, including but not limited to the translation into Dutch by certified translator and final amendment at the request of the notary or RIPE NCC's lawyer of the exact wording of the amendments in Dutch, and the amendment of any cross-references to the Articles of Association in other documents to bring these in conformity with the Articles of Association as adopted in this General Meeting." - "The General Meeting approves the new RIPE NCC Conflict Arbitration Procedure." - "The General Meeting approves the addition of Pierre Baume to the RIPE NCC Arbiters Panel." - "The General Meeting approves the addition of Conor Dufficy to the RIPE NCC Arbiters Panel." - "The General Meeting approves the addition of Ronald Duncan to the RIPE NCC Arbiters Panel." - "The General Meeting approves the addition of Alireza Ghafarallahi to the RIPE NCC Arbiters Panel." - "The General Meeting approves the addition of James Hickman to the RIPE NCC Arbiters Panel." - "The General Meeting approves the addition of Ondřej Surý to the RIPE NCC Arbiters Panel." - "The General Meeting approves the addition of Nick Williams to the RIPE NCC Arbiters Panel." LIR Portal Migration is done

This means we migrated the LIR Portal to a completely new platform that supports the RIPE NCC's modern back-end technologies. RIPE NCC General Meeting - Remote Participation

Dear RIPE NCC member, The RIPE NCC Executive Board invites you to participate remotely in the the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) to be held on Wednesday, 17 November 2010. All RIPE NCC members will today receive an email from <agm(a)ripe.net> containing instructions on how to participate remotely via webcast and the chat facility. The email will contain a link that will redirect members to a secure webpage hosted by a third party, BigPulse. BigPulse will provide data that will let the Executive Board and RIPE NCC membership know the level of remote participation during the GM. The webcast itself will be hosted by the RIPE NCC. PGP Key-Signing Party at RIPE 61

[Apologies for duplicates] Dear colleagues, During RIPE 61, A PGP Key-Signing Party will be held on Tuesday 16 November, at 18:00. We encourage you to come along if you're interested in building your web of trust. The signing process will happen as follows: 1. Before the party, you'll need to add your PGP public key to this keyring: http://biglumber.com/x/web?keyring=9837 The deadline for adding an entry to the keyring is Tuesday 16 November at 12:00. 2. At the party, you'll be provided with a printed copy of the keyring. You'll need to verify that your public key is listed correctly on it. 3. Each person present will read out the fingerprint of their own public key for everyone else to verify. Please bring an independent copy of your key fingerprint (eg. your business card) to read from. As each fingerprint is read out, you can mark your copy with a check mark. 4. Next, each person will confirm their identity by showing a legal document (such as a passport or a driver's licence) to the other participants. After you're satisfied with the identity of a participant, you can mark your copy with a second check mark. 5. At the end of the party, each participant will have a printed sheet on which they will have placed check marks to confirm public key fingerprints and identities. When you get home, you can download the keyring and sign each key that you have checked. After that you should send each signed key to the owner of the key, and perhaps upload it to a keyserver. RIPE NCC General Meeting: Final Reminder to Register Online

Dear RIPE NCC member, Tomorrow, 3 November 2010, is the final day to register online for the RIPE NCC General Meeting November 2010. Tomorrow is also the deadline for submitting proxy forms. Registrations and proxy forms will be accepted until 23:59 (UTC). Details on how to register and submit proxy forms are given below. Meeting Details ---------------- The GM will be held on Wednesday, 17 November 2010 from 16:00-19:00. It will be held adjacent to the RIPE 61 Meeting, which takes place from 15-19 November 2010 at the Westin Excelsior Hotel in Rome, Italy. The GM will consist of two parts: - The RIPE NCC Services Working Group will begin at 16:00 and will include the presentation of the Report from the RIPE NCC. This part of the GM is open to everyone. - The second part of the GM follows immediately after and is only open to RIPE NCC members who have registered for the GM. This part of the meeting is the forum where RIPE NCC members can discuss the operations and activities of the RIPE NCC and exercise their voting rights. More information about the GM is available at: https://www.ripe.net/membership/gm/gm-november2010/ Registration ------------- You must register for the GM separately from the RIPE 61 Meeting. As a member, you can attend both the RIPE NCC Services Working Group session and the members-only section of the GM without being registered for the RIPE 61 Meeting. You will also be able to register to attend the GM at the venue on the day of the meeting. In the event that your organisation is to be represented by a director or an authorised employee, the registration form should state the name(s) of the employee(s) or director(s). If more than one authorised person is to attend the GM, the person who registers first will be assigned the voting rights. Report from the RIPE NCC ------------------------- The Report from the RIPE NCC presentation will be given during the RIPE NCC Services Working Group session during RIPE 61, which constitutes the first part of the GM. GM attendees who have not registered for the RIPE Meeting are welcome to participate in this working group session. This takes place on Wednesday, 17 November 2010 from 16:00-17:30, immediately before the members-only section of the GM. The Report from the RIPE NCC presentation will not be repeated in the members-only section of the GM. Voting and Resolutions ----------------------- Candidate members are welcome to attend the GM but are not permitted to vote according to article 16.7 of the RIPE NCC Articles of Association. Full members who are not able to attend the GM but still want to vote can do so by means of proxy voting as per article 16. Please also note that the GM can only pass resolutions that have been submitted and published according to article 15 of the RIPE NCC Articles of Association.
