Registration for Electronic Voting at the RIPE NCC General Meeting April 2012

Dear colleagues, At the upcoming RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) in Ljubljana on 18 April 2012, electronic voting for the RIPE NCC Executive Board election and on the GM resolutions will be facilitated. Those attending the GM on site can vote either electronically or by using the traditional paper ballot method. A summary of what you need to do to register for electronic voting is provided at the end of this email. The voting period will begin after the resolutions are presented to the membership on 18 April and will remain open until 19 April at 14:00 (UTC +2). The voting period will give members in all time zones in the RIPE NCC service region adequate time to cast their votes. The RIPE NCC uses BigPulse, a third party that specialises in web-based voting solutions, to conduct the poll. Tomorrow, 14 March 2012, you will receive an email from the RIPE NCC inviting you to register for electronic voting with the BigPulse system. You should follow the instructions in the invitation email if you wish to register for electronic voting. The deadline to register for electronic voting is 17 April 2012. Those attending the GM in person who wish to vote electronically must also register by 17 April. NOTE: It will not be possible to register to vote electronically on the day of the GM. If you think you are entitled to vote but do not receive the invitation to register by 18:00 (UTC) on 14 March, please contact <agm(a)ripe.net> to let us know. You will receive an email on 14 March inviting you to register for electronic voting. The subject of the email will be "Electronic Voting for the RIPE NCC Executive Board Elections and GM Resolutions: Register Now". 2. Click the link in the email to bring you to the BigPulse registration pages. 3. Select the LIRs you are entitled to vote for and click "Submit". 4. On the next page, confirm your selection. 5. On the final page, you will receive instructions to complete your registration. You will need to submit a copy of your passport or ID to the RIPE NCC. If you submitted your ID previously for a RIPE NCC Executive Board election, you only need to email <agm(a)ripe.net> to let us know. You will not have to resubmit identification.

Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC is proud to introduce the IP Analyser. It has been available as a preview in the LIR Portal for several weeks, but now it's time to properly introduce this brand new service that gives our members an insight into their IPv4 and IPv6 allocations and assignments. The ultimate goal is to offer a complete overview of all the IP resources you hold and inform you about everything related to them. The first release of the IP Analyser offers a basic feature set. We will then add new features incrementally going forward. More details can be found on RIPE Labs at: https://labs.ripe.net/Members/AlexBand/introducing-the-ip-analyser We encourage you to provide us with feedback on the IP Analyser by clicking the "Feedback" button in the LIR Portal. The vacant seat is for one three-year term and is to fill the place currently held by Dmitry Burkov, whose term expires in April 2012. A nomination for the appointment of a member of the Executive Board requires the written support of at least five members. You must be a RIPE NCC member and a registered LIR contact to support a nomination. Nomination submissions should include the following information: - Your full name - Your organisation - Your LIR RegID - Name of the candidate you wish to support Nominations must be submitted by email to <agm-nominations(a)ripe.net> by Wednesday, 28 March 2012 following the guidelines outlined in article 9 of the RIPE NCC Articles of Association. Reminder: Annual Report 2011 - Option for RIPE NCC Members

Dear members, We would like to remind you that if you wish to receive the RIPE NCC Annual Report 2011 by post, you must opt in to do so by 18:00 (UTC) on 29 February 2012. You can do this by using the Communication Preferences option in your LIR Portal account. The Annual Report 2011 will be published online on 21 March 2012. In previous years, all RIPE NCC members were sent a copy of the Annual Report by post. This year, members need to "opt in" if they wish to receive a copy of the Annual Report by post. Members who do not choose to opt in will not receive the Annual Report by post. It will, as always, be available for all members to read online. The RIPE NCC is implementing this opt-in system in response to feedback received from members in the RIPE NCC Membership and Stakeholder Survey 2011, the RIPE NCC General Meetings and various other feedback mechanisms. Excerpts from the RIPE NCC Articles of Association: Article 8.2 The Executive Board of the Association shall consist of at least three and at most five natural persons. They shall be members of the Board in a personal capacity and do not have to be Members of the Association. Employees of the Association cannot be appointed members of the Executive Board. Article 9.1 The members of the Executive Board shall be appointed by the General Meeting from a list of nominees to be drawn up by the Members. A nomination for the appointment of a member of the Executive Board shall need the written support of at least five Members and shall be submitted no later than three weeks before the General Meeting. If three weeks before the General Meeting the number of candidates nominated for appointment as referred to above does not exceed the number of vacancies, the Executive Board shall have to nominate one or more candidates for appointment so that the total number of proposed candidates shall exceed the number of Executive Board members to be appointed by the General Meeting. Article 9.2 If the members or the Executive Board should fail to draw up a list of nominees within three months after the vacancy has occurred, the General Meeting may appoint a member of the Executive Board at its own discretion.
