Dear members, The Draft RIPE NCC Activity Plan and Budget 2021 is now available for your review: https://www.ripe.net/participate/meetings/gm/meetings/october-2020/draft-ri… This document is the clearest way you can learn about our plans for next year and shape the direction we take as an organisation. We ask that you read it and share any feedback on <members-discuss(a)ripe.net>. Members now have six weeks to comment on this draft version, after which it will be discussed at the General Meeting (GM) alongside RIPE 81 on Wednesday, 28 October 2020. The Executive Board will consider all feedback on our activities before publishing the final version in December 2020. Please note that if you want to participate or vote in the GM, you will need to register via the General Meeting section in my.ripe.net. Dear colleagues, As of 11:30 UTC today, our ticketing system has been unavailable. We're working to ensure that normal service is restored as quickly as possible. We are also exploring the cause of the failure. Access to the 'Tickets' section in the LIR Portal has been temporarily blocked while we work on the issue. If you submitted a ticket from 11:30 UTC onwards today and received an email notification with a ticket number, you do not need to take further action and we will reply to you as soon as possible. If you did not receive an email notification, you will need to resubmit your ticket once our services are restored. Dear colleagues, On behalf of our Executive Board, I invite you to register for the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) October 2020. You can register to participate and vote at: https://www.ripe.net/s/gm-registration-oct-2020 The GM will take place from 28-30 October 2020 online, adjacent to the RIPE 81 meeting. To participate you can follow the GM via livestream, participate via chat and vote on resolutions electronically. The GM gives members an opportunity to discuss the operations and activities of the RIPE NCC. Dear colleagues, The IPv6 Fundamentals – Analyst exam is now live! You can use your LIR’s vouchers to schedule a RIPE NCC Certified Professionals exam using our online exam platform. The IPv6 Fundamentals - Analyst exam is intended for individuals who are familiar with best current practices in IPv6. It certifies your ability to calculate IPv6 subnets, create an IPv6 addressing plan and recognise the application of IPv6 transition mechanisms, among other skills. We would like to thank the RIPE community members who supported the exam creation process by writing and reviewing questions, and also answering our Job Task Analysis survey. Hello, For more than 25 years, the RIPE NCC has been supporting activities and projects for the “Good of the Internet”. Community-driven, non-commercial work has been fundamental to the success of the Internet from its earliest days, and continues to play an important role in making the Internet resilient, secure and accessible for everyone. Under the RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund, the RIPE NCC will provide up to EUR 250,000 per year to support projects of value to the operation, sustainability and resilience of the Internet, with a focus on tools and services benefitting the technical community in the Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia. [news] New RIPE Chair and Vice Chair

Dear colleagues, I would like to congratulate Mirjam Kühne and Niall O’Reilly on their selection as the new RIPE Chair and Vice Chair. Both Mirjam and Niall have a long history within RIPE; they are experienced chairs, they understand consensus, and they share the community's expectations in terms of transparency and openness. I am sure they will continue to serve the community well in their new roles. I am happy that I no longer have to occupy both the RIPE Chair and RIPE NCC Managing Director roles. I intend to pass the torch to Mirjam and Niall as soon as they are ready to assume their new RIPE responsibilities. I do not expect this will take very long. As Managing Director, I am fully committed to giving the new leadership and the RIPE community the support it needs, just as my predecessors supported myself and Rob Blokzijl before me.
