RIPE NCC General Meeting May 2010 - Deadlines Approaching

Dear RIPE NCC member, The RIPE NCC Executive Board reminds you that this Wednesday, 21 April 2010, at 23:59 UTC is the deadline for: - Online registration for the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) - Submitting proxy forms - Proposing resolutions to be voted upon at the GM - Registering to vote electronically in the Executive Board elections - Submitting a copy of your passport or ID to confirm registration to vote electronically *Important Note* Due to continued air traffic disruption in western Europe, members planning to attend the GM are encouraged to register for electronic voting in case the disruption causes them to be unable to attend the meeting. This will ensure that they are able to cast their votes in the RIPE NCC Executive Board elections. The GM will be held on Wednesday, 5 May 2010 from 16:00-20:30. It will be held adjacent to the RIPE 60 Meeting, which takes place from 3-7 May 2010 at the Prague Marriot Hotel in the Czech Republic. For the first time, members will be able to join the GM remotely via webcast. Details on how to access the GM webcast will be emailed to members before the meeting. If you do not send a copy of your passport or ID to the RIPE NCC, you will be unable to vote electronically. Voting and Resolutions ------------------------------- Candidate members are welcome to attend the GM but are not permitted to vote according to article 16.7 of the RIPE NCC Articles of Association. Full members who are not able to attend the GM but still want to vote can do so by means of proxy voting or by electronic voting (see above). Please also note that the GM can only pass resolutions that have been submitted and published according to article 15 of the RIPE NCC Articles of Association. Update to RIPE NCC LIR Portal

[Apologies for duplicates] Dear RIPE NCC member, The RIPE NCC is currently in the process of upgrading the LIR Portal to a single sign-on system. Once implemented, this system will allow members to more easily access all RIPE NCC services that require the user to sign in. To help ensure a smooth deployment, the upgrade will be rolled out in stages over the coming months. The first stage of deployment, upgrading the Billing section of the site, was carried out on Wednesday, 14 April. Because the deployment of this new sign-in system so far applies to only part of the LIR Portal, users may find that they are asked to sign in more than once as they move between different sections of the site. This is to be expected, and will continue until the single sign- on system has been fully deployed throughout the LIR Portal. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause users. Last Call for Nominations to RIPE NCC Executive Board

Dear RIPE NCC member, The RIPE NCC is making a last call for nominations to the RIPE NCC Executive Board. The vacant seats are for two three-year terms and are to fill the places currently held by Nigel Titley and Jánoz Zsakó, whose terms expire in May 2010. Voting for the appointment of the RIPE NCC Executive Board members will take place at the upcoming RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM). The GM will be held on Wednesday, 5 May 2010 from 16:00-19:00 (CEST), adjacent to the RIPE 60 Meeting, which takes place from 3-7 May 2010 at the Prague Marriott Hotel, Czech Republic. You must be registered for the GM if you wish to attend and vote in the Executive Board election. If you would like to vote but cannot attend the GM, there are two options that will allow you to vote in the Executive Board elections: Electronic Voting All RIPE NCC members who are registered contacts were emailed invitations on 6 April 2010 to register to vote electronically at the GM. If you wish to vote electronically, you must register to do so by 23:59 (UTC) on 21 April 2010. Electronic voting is available only for the Executive Board elections and not for resolutions to be voted upon at the GM. Proxy Voting You can be represented by a third party who is not an authorised employee or director. If you wish to do this, please fill out the proxy form and send it to us by 23:59 (UTC) on 21 April 2010. Any proxy sent to us after this date will not be valid. RIPE NCC Executive Board Elections: Registration for Electronic Voting

Dear Colleagues, At the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) October 2009 in Lisbon, the RIPE NCC Articles of Association were amended, and approved, to allow for electronic voting for the RIPE NCC Executive Board elections. At the upcoming GM in Prague, Czech Republic on 5 May 2010, the RIPE NCC Executive Board elections will, for the first time, allow remote attendees to vote electronically in the elections for the Executive Board seats. Those attending the GM on site can vote using the traditional paper ballot method. The RIPE NCC has engaged BigPulse, a third party that specialises in web-based voting solutions, to conduct the poll. Today, 6 April 2010, you will receive an email from the RIPE NCC inviting you to register for electronic voting with the BigPulse system. You should follow the instructions in the invitation email if you wish to register for electronic voting. The deadline to register for electronic voting is 21 April 2010.
