Hello RIPE NCC members, This is a special edition of the Member Update for RIPE 84, taking place next week from 16-20 May. Alongside the RIPE Meeting, we will also have our RIPE NCC General Meeting on Wednesday, 18 May. There will be updates on the NRO NC, policy issues and the RIPE NCC’s Registry Services, as well as discussions about IPv6 policy goals, the IPv4 waiting list and the requirements for IPv4 assignments. Information Services -- MAT Working Group Session The MAT Working Group session will take place during RIPE 84 on Wednesday, 18 May. During the session, you will hear presentations about the RIPE NCC’s tools, anomaly reporting with RIPE Atlas, flow monitoring in bwNet, a discussion on data and more: https://ripe84.ripe.net/programme/meeting-plan/mat-wg/ -- Quarterly Planning We publish quarterly roadmaps for a number of our services. These outline our development teams’ plans and projects for the quarter. Ahead of the MAT Working Group at RIPE 84, where you can ask questions about these services, check out the quarterly planning for DNS and K-root, RIPE Atlas, RIS and RPKI: https://www.ripe.net/support/documentation/quarterly-planning -- TTL Lowered for NS and DS Records We have lowered the time to live (TTL) for NS and DS records in our rDNS pipeline. This allows for faster DNSSEC key updates and faster roll-out of changes to members' domain objects. -- Upgrade of Zonemaster Service The Zonemaster service, which is used to verify domain object updates, has been updated to a newer version. This provides support for newer DNSSEC algorithms, as requested by the community. -- Migration from KSK+ZSK to CSK We've completed the migration of Key Signing Keys and Zone Signing Keys (KSK+ZSK) to Combined Signing Keys (CSK) on our DNSSEC signers. All of our zones are now signed with a CSK. 3. Community and Engagement -- RIPE NCC General Meeting The final agenda for the RIPE NCC General Meeting has been published. The supporting documents, including the Annual Report 2021, Financial Report 2021 and Charging Scheme 2023, are all available to review before the meeting. Dear RIPE NCC members, This is a reminder that there is a call for nominations to the RIPE NCC Executive Board. Nominations will be accepted until Wednesday 27 April 2022. There will be an election for two vacant seats at the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) on 18-20 May 2022. Each seat is for a three-year term. The election is to fill the seats currently held by Ondřej Filip and Remco van Mook, whose terms expire in May 2022. The document outlining the RIPE NCC Executive Board functions and expectations is available at: https://www.ripe.net/about-us/executive-board/ripe-ncc-executive-board-func… All those considering standing for election to the board are advised to read this information. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How to nominate a candidate or support a nomination -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A nomination for the appointment of a member of the Executive Board requires the support of at least five RIPE NCC members, among other criteria. [GM] Draft RIPE NCC Charging Scheme 2023 and Draft GM Agenda

Dear RIPE NCC members, The Draft RIPE NCC Charging Scheme 2023 has been published. The Executive Board proposes to continue with the existing model for next year and increase the annual fee to EUR 1,550. This will allow us to cater for a likely reduction in the number of LIR accounts and accommodate rising costs while maintaining our service levels for members and community. Members are encouraged to provide feedback on the draft charging scheme on the Members Discuss mailing list. All supporting documents for the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) May 2022 are now available at: https://www.ripe.net/participate/meetings/gm/meetings/may-2022/documentatio… The documents include: - RIPE NCC Annual Report 2021 - RIPE NCC Financial Report 2021 - Draft RIPE NCC Charging Scheme 2023 We ask members to read these documents and provide feedback on them on the Members Discuss mailing list or during the GM itself. The draft agenda with resolutions to be voted on is also available at: https://www.ripe.net/participate/meetings/gm/meetings/may-2022/agenda The agenda will be in draft form until two weeks before the GM. Until this time, members can propose resolutions, which will need the support of 200 members. Members can also email the Executive Board at <exec-board(a)ripe.net> to suggest resolutions. The Board asks that questions or comments be sent ahead of the GM to <agm(a)ripe.net> to help ensure an efficient meeting. An election will be held at this GM to fill two seats on the RIPE NCC Executive Board. There is currently one confirmed candidate. The deadline to nominate candidates is Wednesday, 27 April 2022. All the details are available at: https://www.ripe.net/participate/meetings/gm/meetings/may-2022/eb-elections Onsite and online participation is available to all members, including webcast, live chat and electronic voting. [service] Phishing Attack

Dear colleagues, Since yesterday, we have seen a high number of phishing emails targeting our staff. Members have also reported attempts that look to be related. Most of these phishing emails contain a link to an encrypted file accompanied by a password. These emails are slightly more convincing than regular phishing attempts. In many cases they might be sent under the name of a colleague or someone you know from the RIPE community, often sent as a reply to an existing email thread.
