Dear RIPE NCC members, The voting period for the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) is extended to Wednesday, 23 May at 09:00 UTC+2. The extension period takes into account the weekend followed by a public holiday in a number of RIPE NCC service region countries. Due to a miscommunication regarding the voting period sent to registered voters, the Executive Board has decided to extend this voting period to next Wednesday, 23 May at 09:00 UTC+2 to ensure that all registered members have the opportunity to cast their votes. This only applies to those members that have already registered to vote. Please note, no new registrations can be accepted. Votes that have already been cast are valid. Those who have already cast their votes can not do so again. The paper ballots have been added to the electronic voting system in accordance with the process I described in the GM, under the supervision of independent scrutineers. Because the voting period is still open, results cannot be calculated until the system is officially closed on 23 May. The above was formally reported at the GM on Friday, 18 May 2018. Dear RIPE NCC members, At 07:00 UTC on Tuesday 24 April we will introduce, in the ripe.net DNS zone, a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record with a soft fail qualifier that will allow remote mail servers to validate that the emails we send come from our domain. We are making this change because, recently, a significant number of Gmail or G Suite users have experienced issues when emails have been sent from our email servers. In certain cases, some of the emails were rejected or marked as spam. The only potential negative consequence of this change is that there will be an increased likelihood that forwarded emails will be tagged as spam by various email service providers. If you do not forward emails received from ripe.net email addresses, this change will not affect you at all. We have been made aware that some Gmail or G Suite users have lost emails or have experienced delays in mail coming from RIPE NCC mailing lists to which they are subscribed. The deadline for submitting nominations or expressions of support is *25 April 2018*. The election will take place at the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) from 16-18 May 2018. The election will be to fill two seats on the Executive Board. There are currently five nominees, four of whom are confirmed candidates. Nominees need five expressions of support to become confirmed candidates for the election. The following is a summary of the main items from the meeting. Further details are available in the minutes: - The Board approved the publication of the Draft RIPE NCC Annual Report. - The Board approved the publication of the Draft RIPE NCC Financial Report 2017. - The Board approved the Terms and Conditions for RIPE Meeting Registrations. - The Board approved amendments to the RIPE NCC procedural document "Due Diligence for the Quality of the RIPE NCC Registration Data". - The Board approved amendments to the RIPE NCC procedural document "Independent Internet Number Resources - Contractual Relationship Changes Between Sponsoring LIR and End User". - The Board approved amendments to the Meeting Networking Tool Application Terms and Conditions. - The Board approved amendments to the IPv4 Transfer Listing Service Terms and Conditions. - The Board approved the agenda for the RIPE NCC General Meeting in May 2018. - The Board approved the Draft RIPE NCC Charging Scheme 2019 with identical fees to 2018 and asked RIPE NCC Management to prepare the document for the RIPE NCC General Meeting in May 2018. - The Board approved an additional allocation of a maximum of 250k EUR for the addition of a single high capacity K-root instance.
