Dear RIPE NCC members, We at the RIPE NCC wish to express our sympathy and solidarity with our Turkish and Syrian members and community. We are conscious of the many members in this region providing Internet services that are vital to the work of first responders. Our thoughts are with all of those affected. As we have shared previously, we will work with members in the region who may need an extension on their invoices. Registry -- LIR Stats Number of LIRs: 23,397 (+14) Number of members: 20,244 (+13) LIRs with IPv6: 16,756 (+21) IPv4 addresses transferred in January: 383,488 (-918,272) -- Quarterly Sanctions Transparency Report Published We have published our latest Quarterly Sanctions Transparency Report for Q1 2023. Information and Services -- RIPE Atlas Probe Firmware Release We are currently working to update the RIPE Atlas probe firmware release so that we can properly include it in distributions like RHEL. -- RIPE Labs In February, RIPE Labs featured articles from community members on topics including assessing the risk of .nl registrations, PeeringDB’s 2023 product roadmap, reusable visualisations for AS hegemony and more: https://labs.ripe.net/ -- RIPE Labs Article Competition The RIPE Labs article competition is back. Community and Engagement -- RIPE 86 Call for Presentations The RIPE Programme Committee is seeking content proposals from the RIPE community for plenary sessions, lightning talks and BoFs. RIPE 86 will be a hybrid meeting, so both in-person and virtual presentations are acceptable. The deadline to submit a presentation proposal is Sunday, 12 March: https://ripe86.ripe.net/submit-topic/cfp/ -- SEE 11 Call for Presentations The call for presentations for SEE 11 is open until 5 March. The SEE Programme Committee is especially interested in presentation proposals about sustainability and green tech: https://www.ripe.net/participate/meetings/regional-meetings/see/see-11/cfp -- Apply for RACI and the RIPE Fellowship for RIPE 86 The RIPE NCC is accepting applications for RIPE Fellowship and RACI candidates to attend RIPE 86, taking place in Rotterdam from 22-26 May 2023. Both options cover the costs of the meeting ticket, travel and accommodation for successful candidates. The application deadline is Thursday, 9 March. This proposal recommends setting the minimum assignment size for temporary assignments to a /24 while allowing for a smaller assignment if requested by the End User. This would also allow routing requirements to justify the request for more than a /24 for research purposes. The goal of this proposal is to extend the lifetime of the IXP IPv4 address pool. [news] Solidarity with Turkish and Syrian Members and Community

Dear colleagues, I am writing to express solidarity and sympathy with our members and community in Turkey and Syria. Last week saw a natural disaster of monumental proportions in our service region. For those who live and work, and who have family and friends in the affected region, this is clearly a traumatic experience. We are conscious that it is RIPE NCC members who are at this moment providing the Internet services that allow first responders and emergency services to carry out their work, and affected people to access vital information and stay in touch with loved ones. Our thoughts are with you all at this time. For our members in affected areas, we understand that paying invoices, for instance, will be the last thing on your mind, so we ask you not to be concerned and reach out if you need an extension. We will work to support you in this time of need. At the RIPE NCC, we are fortunate to have many excellent staff from the affected countries, and we will do what we can to support them through this period. Should you wish to support the relief effort, I encourage you to find a charitable organisation you support and make a donation. [GM] Call for Volunteers for Executive Board Election Code of Conduct Team

Dear members, This is a call for volunteers from the membership to join the Executive Board Election Code of Conduct Team for the May 2023 General Meeting elections. The Executive Board election of 2023 will be the third to have a Code of Conduct (CoC) for Executive Board Election candidates. I should make it clear that this is a separate Code of Conduct to the RIPE NCC and RIPE community CoCs. This code has been established and is only in effect for confirmed candidates during the election process. An Executive Board Election Code of Conduct Team was also established to evaluate reports of violations of the Code of Conduct. The team for 2022 was made up of seven volunteers and the Executive Board would like to express its gratitude to Sergey Myasoedov, Sebastian Becker, Nat Morris, Reza Hajiahmadi, Jan Žorž, Cynthia Revström and Erik Baïs who carried out this important work. The Executive Board would now like to ask for volunteers from the membership to be on the Executive Board Election Code of Conduct Team for the May 2023 election. The task of this team will be to evaluate any reports of violations of the election Code of Conduct by candidates. If the team confirms that a violation of the election Code of Conduct has taken place, disqualification of the candidate in question can take place. If you are willing to participate in this role, please send a mail to <agm(a)ripe.net> by *Friday, 24 February 2023*. The Board will appoint members of the team from the list of those that volunteer. Members should not volunteer if they expect to become candidates in the election.
