Community and Engagement -- Final Call for Presentations for RIPE 85 The RIPE Programme Committee has opened a third and final call for presentations for RIPE 85. Submit your proposals for plenary sessions or lightning talks by Monday, 3 October at 15:00 UTC: https://ripe85.ripe.net/submit-topic/cfp/ -- CAPIF 1 Call for Presentations We are excited to announce the launch of our new regional meeting, the Central Asia Peering and Interconnection Forum. CAPIF 1 will take place from 16-17 November 2022 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. We are now seeking content proposals from the community for plenary session presentations, panels and lightning talks. One describes the Code of Conduct Team's operational procedures, and the other outlines the selection process for team members. Members will also vote on the redistribution of the 2022 surplus to the membership in 2023 and amendments to the Articles of Association. Dear members, The Draft RIPE NCC Activity Plan and Budget 2023 is now available as a PDF for your review at: https://www.ripe.net/draft-activity-plan-budget-2023 This is the clearest way that you can learn about our plans for next year and shape the direction we take as an organisation. We ask that you read it and share any feedback on <members-discuss at ripe.net>. Members can now comment on this draft document, after which it will be discussed at the General Meeting (GM) alongside RIPE 85 on Wednesday, 26 October 2022. The Executive Board will consider all feedback on our activities before publishing the final version in December 2022. We are looking for organisations within the RIPE NCC service region to submit their proposal for host consideration no later than *11 November 2022*. [news] RIPE NCC Executive Board Selects New Chair

Dear colleagues, Ondřej Filip has been appointed Chair of the RIPE NCC Executive Board following Christian Kaufmann’s decision to step down as Chairman. Ondřej will serve as Chair from 1 September. He has served on the Board for three years and as Treasurer since 2020. Over the course of his career, he has served on the boards of many Internet-related bodies and has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Christian, who has served as Chairman for four years and as a Board member since 2011, is officially stepping down in September after being selected to serve a three-year term on Seat 10 of the ICANN Board of Directors. To enable a smooth transition, a new Chair has been appointed to allow for a transfer period and Christian will remain a member of the RIPE NCC Executive Board until his term ends in May 2023. With Ondřej’s appointment as Chair, Raymond Jetten will become Treasurer. Piotr Strzyżewski remains as Secretary and Remco van Mook remains as NRO EC representative, while Maria Häll becomes the Community Projects Fund representative. I would like to thank Christian for his work as RIPE NCC Executive Board Chairman and for his time and dedication in serving as a Board member for over a decade.
