Your Technical Update -- RPKI: Krill Gains Powerful ROA Management Based on BGP Routing Supported by the RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund, NLnetLabs launched Krill 0.7, which is the biggest update to their open source RPKI Certificate Authority software so far. This latest version lets you create and maintain Route Origin Authorisations (ROAs) based on your BGP announcements. We will be discussing various topics including the state of the Internet in Kazakhstan and across our service region, how RIPE NCC tools and measurements can help operators (RIPE Atlas, RIPEstat, RIPEIPmap, etc.) and more. Hello, For more than 25 years, the RIPE NCC has been supporting activities and projects for the “Good of the Internet”. Community-driven, non-commercial work has been fundamental to the success of the Internet from its earliest days, and continues to play an important role in making the Internet resilient, secure and accessible for everyone. Under the RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund, the RIPE NCC will provide up to EUR 250,000 per year to support projects of value to the operation, sustainability and resilience of the Internet, with a focus on tools and services benefitting the technical community in the Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia. Apply now to get your project funded! https://ripe.net/community-projects-fund <https://ripe.net/community-projects-fund> If you or your organisation is working on a new or existing project that fits the criteria below, and need some financial support to get it off the ground or keep it going, we want to hear from you! Is your project of benefit to the Internet, particularly the RIPE community? Is your project non-commercial in nature? Do you have a clear project plan and timeline? A few things to keep in mind: - Funding may be used to purchase equipment, but this cannot be the sole expenditure - Funding cannot be used for humanitarian aid, donations, or to encourage political reform - Funding cannot be used to provide scholarships or cover tuition fees - Funding cannot be used to support any form of commercial activity We’re also happy to announce the addition of Jaya Baloo, Chief Information and Security Officer of Avast Software and a Vice Chair of the Quantum Flagship Strategic Advisory Board of the EU Commission, to the selection committee. [news] New RIPE Chair and Vice Chair

Dear colleagues, I would like to congratulate Mirjam Kühne and Niall O’Reilly on their selection as the new RIPE Chair and Vice Chair. Both Mirjam and Niall have a long history within RIPE; they are experienced chairs, they understand consensus, and they share the community's expectations in terms of transparency and openness. I am sure they will continue to serve the community well in their new roles. I am happy that I no longer have to occupy both the RIPE Chair and RIPE NCC Managing Director roles. I intend to pass the torch to Mirjam and Niall as soon as they are ready to assume their new RIPE responsibilities. I do not expect this will take very long. As Managing Director, I am fully committed to giving the new leadership and the RIPE community the support it needs, just as my predecessors supported myself and Rob Blokzijl before me.
