Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC will move to a new cloud-based ticketing system, Zendesk, in the coming weeks. The data centres for this system are located in the EU and are fully ISO 27001 compliant. More information is available in the RIPE Labs article on the new ticketing system: https://labs.ripe.net/Members/AlexBand/ticketing-and-document-management-at… As part of the transition process, and to ensure security for you and your private information, we will change the way we receive and manage documentation from next week. Members often send us sensitive and confidential documents that they would not want uploaded to the cloud. We will ensure that these are stored only on dedicated RIPE NCC servers. All requests to the RIPE NCC that require sending documentation are already submitted through my.ripe.net - so there is no change here. If you need to add further documentation to a request, you will be able to do this using the enhanced 'My Tickets' functionality that will be available to registered LIR account holders. [news] Reminder: NRO NC Call for Nominations in RIPE NCC Service Region

Dear colleagues, There is a call for nominations from the RIPE NCC service region to fill one vacant seat on the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number Council (NC). The term of Wilfried Woeber, who was appointed to the NRO NC by the RIPE NCC Executive Board in November 2014, ends on 31 December 2017. The RIPE NCC Executive Board will select one representative from the nominees to serve a three-year term on the NRO NC beginning 1 January 2018. The decision of the Executive Board will be announced at the RIPE 75 Meeting, which will be held in Dubai from 22-26 October 2017. The deadline for nominations is 22 September 2017. Any individual residing within the RIPE NCC service region is eligible for nomination, except Regional Internet Registry (RIR) staff members. Self-nominations are permitted. All nominees may submit a written statement in support of their nomination for publication on the RIPE NCC website. Other individuals may express support for nominated individuals by emailing <nominations(a)ripe.net>. All confirmed nominations will be listed on the RIPE NCC website by 25 September 2017. Dear colleagues, On behalf of our Executive Board, I invite you to register for the RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) October 2017. The GM will take place from 24-26 October 2017 in the Conrad Dubai Hotel, United Arab Emirates, adjacent to the RIPE 75 Meeting. You can register now by setting your "GM Preferences": https://www.ripe.net/s/gm-registration-oct-2017 The GM is where RIPE NCC members can discuss the operations and activities of the RIPE NCC. At the upcoming GM, RIPE NCC members will discuss, among other topics: - The Draft RIPE NCC Activity Plan and Budget 2018 - Redistribution of the RIPE NCC surplus/deficit to the membership (to be voted on) - Amendments to the RIPE NCC Articles of Association and Conflict Arbitration Procedure (to be voted on) - Reports from the RIPE NCC Executive Board and RIPE NCC Management Members are encouraged to attend either in person at the Conrad Dubai Hotel or remotely via the GM webstream. Hi everyone, The RIPE NCC is proud to support the RIPE NCC Community Projects Fund, providing EUR 250,000 per year for projects supporting Internet resilience and operations. Projects will be selected by a committee comprised of a RIPE NCC Executive Board Member and three volunteers from the RIPE community. Volunteer for the selection committee! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Do you have a keen eye for emerging talents and innovative ideas? Would you like to shape the development of projects that will help the technical community? Please nominate yourself or someone you know to help decide which projects receive funding. *Nominations will be accepted until 16 September 2017* To apply, please send an email to <projectsfund(a)ripe.net> and include: • A brief introduction of yourself and your professional experience • What particular traits/insights you’d bring to the committee Committee members will need to commit to serving a minimum term of one year (and a maximum of three) to ensure continuity. [news] Unifying the LIR Portal and RIPE Database User Experience

Dear colleagues, We are pleased to announce that we have completed our integration of the LIR Portal and the RIPE Database web interface. Users will now have a seamless experience when managing their LIR and their resources, and editing objects in the RIPE Database. In the past, the LIR Portal and RIPE Database were maintained as separate applications with their own navigation and authentication. Today the distinction between these two services is no longer as relevant as it once was. The LIR Portal, which was originally intended only for members, also now caters to other resource holders (e.g. RPKI for Legacy Resource Holders and Provider Independent End Users). Similarly, the RIPE Database offers resource management options that were previously only available in the LIR Portal. The two navigation menus have therefore been unified into a single menu that is contextual - users will see only those items that are applicable to them. This functionality is also available for non-LIR users with a RIPE NCC Access account that is linked to an ORGANISATION object in the RIPE Database. This will make it easier for non members to use My Resources and the RPKI Dashboard.
