Dear colleagues, The ICANN 50 meeting is currently taking place in London, and two sessions scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, 25 June, are of specific relevance to the RIPE community. There are remote participation options available so that those not in London can contribute to these discussions. These sessions look at how to improve the accountability of ICANN, and a discussion on transitioning the NTIA’s stewardship of the IANA functions. These sessions represent an important milestone in the ongoing global process to develop a plan for transition of the NTIA’s oversight function to the multi-stakeholder community. As a key stakeholder in ICANN and IANA, it is important that the RIPE community has its voice heard in these discussions. Dear colleagues, This is a call for presentation proposals for the ENOG 8/RIPE NCC Regional Meeting, that will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan on 9 September 2014. http://www.enog.org/meetings/enog-8/ *Submit a Topic* Traditionally, key themes for ENOG are peering, operational practices and collaboration between Internet service providers (ISPs). We welcome presentations sharing operational experience in these areas and focusing on technical, architectural and coordination aspects of the deployment, maintenance and operations of Internet technologies in networks and systems. This time we selected two major themes for the meeting: - *The Internet Silk Route* Here we welcome presentations on trans-Eurasian communication infrastructure, major players, connectivity and interconnection challenges. - *New Intranets: Datacenters, CDNs, Clouds* With this theme we will open discussion on how different components of the Internet are evolving from architectural and business perspective to meet the requirements for QoS, service and content delivery. We are looking for interesting presentations discussing technological (e.g. SDN, CDN), business and security aspects of the new Intranets. As always, traditional topics include, but not limited to, the following: . Peering and Internet Exchange Points - Business, technical and social aspects of peering and interconnection. . Network Operations and Security - Operational experience and best current practices, security trends and technologies. . Key Internet Technologies - Real-life IPv6 and DNSSEC deployment experience, trends and statistics . Internet development trends - New technologies and applications, evolution of the Internet ecosystem . Dear colleagues, Yesterday, LACNIC announced that they reached their last /10 of IPv4 address space and have entered their IPv4 exhaustion phase. Addresses from this block will be distributed at a greatly reduced rate, according to policies established by the LACNIC community.
