Dear RIPE NCC member, Voting for the appointment of one RIPE NCC Executive Board member will take place at the upcoming RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) to be held on Wednesday, 18 April 2012 at the Grand Union Hotel in Ljubljana. Any proxy sent to us after this date will not be valid. The proxy form is available to download at: https://www.ripe.net/lir-services/ncc/gm/april-2012/proxy-vote-registration… Electronic Voting ----------------- Electronic voting is available for RIPE NCC members who wish to vote in the RIPE NCC Executive Board elections and on the resolutions to be voted upon at the GM. If you wish to vote electronically at the GM, you must register to do so by following the instructions in the email that was sent to members on 14 March 2012. If you are a contact person for a RIPE NCC member and did not receive the invitation to register to vote electronically, please email <agm(a)ripe.net> to let us know. We will send this invitation again one week before the GM. The deadline to register for electronic voting is 18:00 (UTC +2), 17 April 2012. This is also the deadline for sending a copy of your passport or ID to the RIPE NCC to confirm your registration to vote electronically. If you sent your passport to register for electronic voting for a previous GM, you will not need to send it again. You just need to email <agm(a)ripe.net> to let us know. Attendees at the GM can choose to vote by paper ballot or electronically, but they must complete the electronic voting registration by 17 April 2012 if they wish to choose that option. NRO Welcomes Public Comments on the ASO Review Report

Dear colleagues, Under the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Bylaws, the Number Resource Organization (NRO) undertakes independent periodic reviews of the Address Supporting Organization (ASO). ITEMS International, a consultancy engaged by the NRO to conduct this current review, has delivered its report. The report is open for public comment and is available here: http://www.nro.net/wp-content/uploads/ASO-Review-Report-2012.pdf The NRO encourages the ICANN, RIR, and wider Internet communities to provide comments on this report, to inform the NRO and ICANN on the further steps required by the review process. Draft RIPE NCC Annual Report 2011 Now Available

Return of Legacy Space

Dear colleagues, In preparation for the ratification of "Global Policy for Post Exhaustion IPv4 Allocation Mechanisms by the IANA" (GPP-IPv4-2011) by the ICANN Board of Directors, we will remove from the available pool of IPv4 address space the IPv4 legacy space that has been returned to the RIPE NCC by various members. 1,368,576 IPv4 addresses were removed from the available pool of IPv4 address space on 14 March, 2012. It is intended that any IPv4 legacy space returned to the RIPE NCC will be placed in IANA's Recovered IPv4 Pool. Until now, legacy space returned to the RIPE NCC has been returned to the RIPE NCC's IPv4 available pool but is not re-distributed. By removing the legacy space from the RIPE NCC's IPv4 available pool, a more accurate overview of the actual space that can be distributed can be seen. As legacy space was distributed before the RIR system was introduced, the RIPE NCC does not have any policy governing the re-distribution of returned legacy space. We believe that placing this legacy space in the IANA's Recovered IPv4 Pool for redistribution to the RIRs will contribute to the future well-being of the Internet. Registration for Electronic Voting at the RIPE NCC General Meeting April 2012

Dear colleagues, At the upcoming RIPE NCC General Meeting (GM) in Ljubljana on 18 April 2012, electronic voting for the RIPE NCC Executive Board election and on the GM resolutions will be facilitated. Those attending the GM on site can vote either electronically or by using the traditional paper ballot method. A summary of what you need to do to register for electronic voting is provided at the end of this email. The voting period will begin after the resolutions are presented to the membership on 18 April and will remain open until 19 April at 14:00 (UTC +2). The voting period will give members in all time zones in the RIPE NCC service region adequate time to cast their votes. The RIPE NCC uses BigPulse, a third party that specialises in web-based voting solutions, to conduct the poll. Tomorrow, 14 March 2012, you will receive an email from the RIPE NCC inviting you to register for electronic voting with the BigPulse system. You should follow the instructions in the invitation email if you wish to register for electronic voting. The deadline to register for electronic voting is 17 April 2012. Those attending the GM in person who wish to vote electronically must also register by 17 April. NOTE: It will not be possible to register to vote electronically on the day of the GM. If you think you are entitled to vote but do not receive the invitation to register by 18:00 (UTC) on 14 March, please contact <agm(a)ripe.net> to let us know. Introducing the IP Analyser

Dear colleagues, The RIPE NCC is proud to introduce the IP Analyser. It has been available as a preview in the LIR Portal for several weeks, but now it's time to properly introduce this brand new service that gives our members an insight into their IPv4 and IPv6 allocations and assignments. The ultimate goal is to offer a complete overview of all the IP resources you hold and inform you about everything related to them. The first release of the IP Analyser offers a basic feature set. We will then add new features incrementally going forward. More details can be found on RIPE Labs at: https://labs.ripe.net/Members/AlexBand/introducing-the-ip-analyser We encourage you to provide us with feedback on the IP Analyser by clicking the "Feedback" button in the LIR Portal.
