Dear RIPE NCC member, The RIPE NCC Autumn General Meeting (GM) 2008 will be held on Tuesday, 28 October 2008 from 16:00-19:00. It will be held adjacent to the RIPE 57 Meeting, which takes place from 26-30 October 2008 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. REGISTRATION ------------------------ You must register for the GM separately from the RIPE 57 Meeting. As a member, you can attend the RIPE NCC Services Working Group session and the members-only section of the GM without being registered for RIPE 57. See below for further information on the RIPE NCC Services Working Group session. You can register for the GM online at: https://lirportal.ripe.net/lirportal/meeting/registration-general/meeting.h… The closing date for online registration is *Tuesday, 14 October 2008*. In the event that your organisation is to be represented by a director or an authorised employee, the registration form should state the name(s) of the employee(s) or director(s). If more than one authorised person is to attend the GM, please specify on the registration form who is allowed to exercise the voting rights. GM attendees who have not registered for the RIPE Meeting are welcome to participate in this working group session. This takes place on Tuesday, 28 October 2008 from 16:00-17:30, immediately before the members-only section of the GM. The Report from the RIPE NCC presentation will not be repeated in the members-only section of the GM. VOTING AND RESOLUTIONS -------------------------------------------- Candidate members are welcome to attend the GM but are not permitted to vote according to article 16.7 of the RIPE NCC Articles of Association. Full members who are not able to attend the GM but still want to vote can do so by means of proxy voting as per article 16. Please also note that the GM can only pass resolutions that have been submitted and published according to article 15 of the RIPE NCC Articles of Association. Last Chance to Participate - Global IPv6 Penetration Survey Closes Wednesday 1 October

[Apologies for duplicates] Dear Colleagues, Almost seven hundred organisations have responded so far to the IPv6 Penetration Survey. Sponsored by ARIN, in cooperation with the Cooperative Association for Internet Data Analysis (CAIDA), this survey is gathering data regarding current and future use of IPv6 around the world. All organisations in the AfriNIC, APNIC, ARIN, LACNIC and RIPE NCC regions are invited to participate in the survey so we can establish a comprehensive view of present IPv6 penetration and future plans for IPv6 deployment. The survey opened on 8 September and remains available until 17:00 EDT on 1 October. The results of the survey will be presented and discussed at the ARIN XXII Public Policy and Members Meeting to be held in Los Angeles, California from 15-17 October 2008. Additionally, the summary results will be shared with all the RIRs for further distribution within their respective regions. The survey data will support ongoing research. The survey is composed of 22 questions that can be answered in a few minutes. This is a secure survey and all data will be presented in summary form only, and kept confidential between ARIN and CAIDA. When you complete the survey you will be entered in a drawing for prizes, one raffle per RIR region. You must provide your contact information to win. RIPE NCC NRO Number Council Candidates Confirmed

[Apologies for duplicate emails] Dear Colleagues, The nomination period for appointment to the Number Resource Organization (NRO) Number Council (NC) has now closed. This year, in accordance with the Number Resource Organization's Memorandum of Understanding (NRO MoU), the RIPE NCC Board of Executives will make the NRO NC appointment. The following candidates have accepted their nomination for the vacant seat on the NRO NC from the RIPE NCC service region: - Paolo Bellorini - Remco van Mook - Wilfried Woeber The term of Wilfried Woeber, which began on 1 January 2006, expires on 31 December 2008. The representative appointed by the RIPE NCC Executive Board for the NRO NC seat will serve a three-year term, beginning 1 January 2009. ARIN/CAIDA IPv6 Penetration Survey: Seeking Global Input

[Apologies for duplicates] Dear Colleagues, The American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN), in cooperation with the Cooperative Association for Internet Data Analysis (CAIDA), is conducting a new survey to gather data regarding current and future use of IPv6. All organisations in the AfriNIC, APNIC, ARIN, LACNIC and RIPE NCC service regions are invited to participate in the survey, which aims to establish a comprehensive view of present IPv6 penetration and future plans for IPv6 deployment. Dear RIPE NCC member, The RIPE NCC Executive Board is pleased to invite you to the RIPE NCC Autumn General Meeting (GM) 2008. The GM will be held on Tuesday, 28 October 2008 from 16:00-19:00. The GM will consist of two parts: - The RIPE NCC Services Working Group will begin at 16:00 and will include the presentation of the Report from the RIPE NCC. This part of the GM is open to everyone. - The second part of the GM follows immediately after and is only open to RIPE NCC members who have registered for the GM. This part of the meeting is the forum where RIPE NCC members can discuss the operations and activities of the RIPE NCC and exercise their voting rights.
