Request for view only access in the LIR Portal

Dear members, We received this request on the NCC Services WG list: https://www.ripe.net/ripe/mail/archives/ncc-services-wg/2021-November/003509... We would be interested to hear if this is something other members would like to see or if there are other aspects of LIR Portal access privileges they would like to see us consider. We'll keep an eye on feedback here and on the NCC Services WG list. Best regards, Theo -- Theodoros Polychniatis Asst. Manager Software Engineering RIPE NCC

It’s not an unreasonable ask. Other systems we use with various registries allow us to set quite granular access levels, so a user can either have a set of permissions or be granted “read only” access to various things. -- Mr Michele Neylon Blacknight Solutions Hosting, Colocation & Domains https://www.blacknight.com/ https://blacknight.blog/ Intl. +353 (0) 59 9183072 Direct Dial: +353 (0)59 9183090 Personal blog: https://michele.blog/ Some thoughts: https://ceo.hosting/ ------------------------------- Blacknight Internet Solutions Ltd, Unit 12A,Barrowside Business Park,Sleaty Road,Graiguecullen,Carlow,R93 X265,Ireland Company No.: 370845 From: members-discuss <members-discuss-bounces@ripe.net> on behalf of Theodoros Polychniatis <tpolychnia@ripe.net> Date: Tuesday, 16 November 2021 at 16:28 To: Members Discuss <members-discuss@ripe.net> Subject: [members-discuss] Request for view only access in the LIR Portal [EXTERNAL EMAIL] Please use caution when opening attachments from unrecognised sources. I totally agree with that
It’s not an unreasonable ask.

Dear Theo, Not exactly the same, but close: For sub-allocated blocks it would be handy to be able to give a 3rd party access to change RPKI for that sub-allocation only. In the LIR portal, or even more useful would be the ability to create an RPKI API key with such constraints instead of the current all-or-nothing approach. Currently, access to change data in the RIPE database (eg add/modify/delete route object) can be easily delegated by adding the 3rd party's maintainer object, but access to make the corresponding RPKI changes cannot. -- Regards, Terrence de Kat, PhD/MTh/BPsy Darkness Reigns (Holding) B.V. Hi Terrence, Thank you for your input. We've added it to the community input section in the RPKI roadmap: https://www.ripe.net/manage-ips-and-asns/resource-management/rpki/rpki-plann... Nathalie Trenaman and the RPKI team will look at all the suggestions and get back to the community. Best regards, Theo -- Theodoros Polychniatis Asst.
